I was biting my nails, I normally never do this but I was so nervous for this race. I remember last time we were here. I didn't want the same thing to happen. Olivia looked nervous as well.

Max for once, didn't end on the podium. I think he had problems with his car. Carlos won the race.
I was so happy for him, it was his first race win.

"My two favorite girls" Max smiled at Olivia and I when he arrived at the media pen. He didn't look sad or mad. That would've been different last year, but he calmed down a lot.
After we did the interview with him, I took him to the side. "Can we talk for a little bit?" I asked him and he just nodded. "Sure, can you walk with me to the hospitality?" I nodded. I was actually done with the interviews so I could just go with him.

We walked out of the media pen and I knew that he was waiting for me to say something.
"I've heard you have a girlfriend" I hated myself for this but I had to know.  "Where did you hear that?" He looked at me and I noticed he wanted to laugh but didn't as he saw I was serious. "The last girlfriend I had was you and you're not easy to forget you know" It actually made me happy to think he wasn't dating anyone else.
"You're not easy to forget either" I mumbled and he chuckled a bit. "You're dating Lando right?" Was I still dating him? I didn't even know but he certainly didn't make my heart jump like Max did. "He kissed someone else" I shrugged my shoulders as we stopped in front of the Red Bull hospitality. "I didn't know, I'm sorry, you deserve better" he pulled me into his arms, giving me a hug. I never wanted this hug to end, I felt safe in his arms, it felt like home. "I am flying to Austria tomorrow, if you want you can join me on Air Max again?" I nodded. I definitely wanted to be with him.

I agreed to have dinner with Lando but I totally regretted it at this moment. I didn't want to see him but I had to. I wanted to end this right.

He was already sitting at the table and I sat down in front of him. He smiled as he saw me. "I already ordered for the both of us, I hope you don't mind" I started shaking my head. I guess this was his way of making sure I would stay. I didn't say anything else. I was waiting for an explanation.
"I am sorry Rylee, for what happened. I have met her a couple of weeks ago and I really started to like her" I nodded. I guess it should break my heart to hear this but it actually didn't.
"I understand. I just wish you told me before I saw you kissing her" he put his hand on mine.
It wasn't a romantic gesture, it was a friendly one and I was totally fine with it.

I guess this was it. Lando liked someone else and if I was honest, so did I.
I tried to forget about Max the best I could but he was always in my mind. He was the one who could make me feel safe and that's actually what I needed right now. He was the hardest love to lose.
