They survived last year, but will they survive a new season, with Ferrari joining the battle for the championship and Rylee trying to balance her work and private life?

We arrived in Hungary for the last race. Rylee didn't come because she was sick. I was gonna miss her, it was gonna be the first weekend in a while that I wouldn't see her walking around the paddock.
I was walking with Hannah, my PR manager through the paddock. "So you know how much work it is to clean up your PR mess?" I looked at her unimpressed. I didn't know what her problem was to be honest. I was much calmer than last year. "Isn't that your job?" She rolled her eyes. "Anyways Christian wants to talk to you, so you should probably meet him as soon as you can" I nodded. I had no idea why he wanted to talk to me.
Christian was probably somewhere in the hospitality. I walked around trying to find him, where was this man hiding. "Max I was looking for you" he put his hand on my back. I turned around and saw Christian standing in front of me. "Hannah told me you wanted to see me?" He nodded but gestured to follow him, which I did. We got inside a room and he closed the door. This must be a serious talk. We both sat down and I looked at him. I was waiting for him to start talking. "So Checo is gonna leave us after the summer break" I raised my eyebrows. "What? Why?" He didn't tell me anything, why would he wanna leave? "Family issues. It's possible that he will come back next year though but we need someone to replace him" I guess it's not gonna be easy to replace him in a couple of weeks. "Okay, and do you have someone in mind?" I kind of expected it to be Pierre or Alex as they already knew the car and I know they were dying to come back. "Lando" I nodded. I didn't expect this but Lando was a great driver and wasn't really happy with his car at Mclaren. "Okay, he's a good driver and I like him" I trusted them, if they thought he was a good fit for us then I wasn't gonna challenge that.
We had a little chat about Lando and Checo, I guess Christian was gonna set up a meeting with Lando. I was happy for him, I knew he wanted to fight for podiums and not for P10.

I couldn't end the first half of the season better. I ended up on P1. I knew Rylee was watching so I knew she would be proud. My friend Martin joined me to start the break with a party. I also invited Lando, I knew he would like Martin and I wanted to talk to him about Red Bull.
