Meera stood outside of the black exteriored double storey house as the cold wind brushed across her face making Meera to clutch her black shawl even closer. For a woman raised and brought up with morals and obedience in a conservative society, Meera was surely disrespecting her parents and putting out shame for many woman by sneaking out at night without any bit of your parents knowledge and leaving to meet a man.
Her mind recalling the questions her parents had bombarded on her head when she had stepped outside of her room.
"Any particular reason, Meera, why he was here?" Her father crossed his arms across his chest. She knew he was angry by the ticking of his jaw muscle and narrow eyes.
"He wanted to talk."
"Oh, and why that for? Haven't you already told him that you don't have any business with him?" He gave her a mocking look as pang of guilt settled against her heart. If only her father knew what his son-in-law had said to her that left the unspoken questions behind.
"He is her husband, Ved. You can't expect him to stay away from her when they are married." Her mother stepped in, placing her coffee mug on the table as she stood up from her seat. Meera was grateful for her mother because Meera was faraway from speaking anything.
"And she is my daughter, Reet. I care for her goddamit." The two women flinched at his outburst. The way he growled scared Meera for a second because of the tension she noticed in the room thickening by each passing minute between her parents.
"Don't fight. Please don't fight because of me." She lowly whispered, gathering the attention of the two towards her. Her father shook his head and then clasped her hand into his gently. His brown eyes so similar and soft as Meera staring at her.
"You are precious to me, Meera, and I hope whatever step you take will be right for you and at the end, will keep you happy." Before Meera could say anything, he turned around and she saw him walking away without turning. Meera wished he did not turn to look at her because she did not to him to see how weak his daughter was. She did not want him to to how fragile she was when it came to her heart.
"Make decisions right for you."
Meera was here to make everything right or maybe worse but she knew one thing, her every decision will be Yuvaan. The things he had told her had left her shocked and most of all a bit of hurt knowing he loved someone else before, or was it jealousy?
She ascended the steps, ignoring the questioning gaze of the guards set on her however, they did not stop her this time. Pushing the door open, she started directly at Yuvaan who looked at her with amusement in his eyes. He sat on a chair with his legs on the table and laptop pressed against his thighs. It wouldn't be a lie if anyone said that for 2 in the morning, Yuvaan looked more than seductive. With his black slacks and black shirt that were rolled up till his elbow, showing his thick forearms and veins on display and three button undone, Meera couldn't stopped herself from clenching her thighs together.
"Meera, my love, what are you doing over here?"
Dammit! Was he that hot or was she being horny?
"I need to solve some questions of mine," she told as he stood up closing his laptop.
"Oh, but I thought my wife left school ages ago." He frowned.
Meera gave him questioning look but continued, "How did you and Hayden become friends?"
Yuvaan clenched his fingers at the mention of blue-eyed blonde. Just the sound of Meera taking his name from her delicate lips had made him angry. Why was she eager to know about him? He thought.
