The news flashed all over the country as Meera's eyes travelled to her phone screen where again a news of Singhania family had caught her attention. She shut it down and tried to focus on her surrounding. The crowning ceremony was over an hour ago and her body screamed with tiredness. The thought had made her curse Yuvaan Singhania and her desires. Looking around at people, she knew that she had a longer night than them and the bite marks on all over her body were an assurance of that, not like people could see them since her make-up artist had done her work perfectly.

Meera could still recall the face of her make-up artist when she had spotted them on Meera. She must have thought Yuvaan Singhania was a beast in bed which Meera knew he was.

"Maa sa, why don't you have something?" Meera heard a voice which she familiar with and she turned around to find the old woman in a wheel chair and Roop Rajvanah crouched in front of her, asking her something softly. Indira shook her head and turned her wheel chair. A nurse looking at her with helplessness.

After the news of her son being shot by one of Singhanias rival family, Indira had gone through a stroke and since then, she was on wheel chair. Meera could have felt sad for that woman if she wasn't crude towards her her grand-daughters-in-law. No matter what, Meera couldn't forget that.

"Leave it Roop. Why do you look grumpy today?" It was Tanisha who had spoken those words as she approached her mother and sister-in-law. From distance, Meera could see her mother-in-law's eyes red and Meera did not had to ask why. Even if Jairaj Singhania wasn't a good man and a good father, she knew that her mother- in-law must have loved him or else, she couldn't have been crying at his memory.

"It is my sons. They make their mother cry as if they don't have any heart," Roop grumbled.

"Shivansh?" Tanisha asked but Roop shook her head.

"Abhimanyu. My son refuses to marry again and I am tired of pursuing him. He doesn't understand that Rajvanshs needs its next heir. Abhimanyu can not be childless always."

"He has a daughter, Roop." Meera could hear Tanisha's voice as if she was correcting her sister-in-law but Tanisha kept her tone vigilant.

Roop scoffed. "As if I care about her. She is a girl... what good is she going to bring to our family, bhabhi sa. She would turn out to be her mother anyway."

Meera felt to tear the hair from Roop's head upon hearing the backward illiterate words coming from a woman herself. If there was someone who still hadn't changed over the years, it had to be Roop. She wondered what if Vedika heard those words? She would throw up the world for her daughter.

As if a cue, Meera's eyes went over the couple standing at the corner of the hall. The woman looking graceful standing beside the tall man speaking danger and dominance. She was draped in a white glittering saree with pearl necklace and earrings adorning her in contrast to the man in black suit. His arm holding his five year old daughter protectively. It came a surprise to Meera that despite they had divorced, Vedika and Abhimanyu still looked a married couple. As if meant to be together and even if she hated to admit but it was hard to imagine Abhimanyu with a woman who wasn't Vedika.
