Chapter 29
Munson
2 days later
3. 14. 10.
I rolled my D20 over and over, waiting for a 20. Even if I rolled one, I probably wouldn't stop. It was a distraction at least.
We didn't know if Y/N was dead. Max was in the hospital, blinded and in casts from head to toe. When the ambulance showed up, Wheeler was nowhere to be found. Lucas claimed he never saw her enter the basement.
I'd seen her die, and even though I knew I wasn't really there, it felt like the most real thing I'd ever been through. To me, she was gone. I heard knocking at my door, and gave no answer. I wished they'd leave me alone."Eddie it's Steve and Dustin!!" Henderson called from outside.
"Go away!" I yelled. They stopped knocking for a moment, before they began to knock even harder. This time, Steve's voice came.
"Open up Eddie! It's about Y/N!" I huffed, standing up and opening the door to my trailer.
"I said go away." I told them, my blood boiling. How many times did I have to say I wanted to be alone?
Dustin held up his walkie talkie.
"I heard her." He said. I shook my head.
"You're hearing things."
"Eddie, it was her. She was asking about you." My eyebrows furrowed, but I refused to get my hopes up. I looked behind them to see Nancy and Robin standing by the car.
"Eddie, she's at skull rock. She's hurt and can't walk back to Hawkins. She told us to come get her!" Henderson was ecstatic. I sighed, looking at all of them.
"You're sure it was her?" I asked slowly. Steve nodded.
"I'd know her anywhere. Let's go get her, Munson." I sighed, no longer angry, but somber.
"Fine." I closed the door behind me, sliding my hands in my pockets. "But if you're wrong-"
"We're not." Nancy said. I looked over at her, and for a moment I saw her sister. I shook it away, climbing into the car.

Steve pulled up to the edge of the woods, and skull rock was a good mile from this spot. I didn't wait for everyone else before climbing out of the car and running in that direction. A thousand thoughts ran through my head as I dodged branches.
Was she really alive? If Henderson was mistaken I'd kill him. Maybe she hated me. I reached skull rock and looked around, seeing no sign of anyone. I let out a sob, looking to the ground.
"Damn you, Dustin." I muttered.
"Eds?" I turned around quickly to see her standing behind me. Alive. She took a few limping steps towards me, looking at me like I was a ghost. "You're alive." She whispered, her voice full of relief. Her hair was tied back and dirty, her clothes slightly torn and her face matted with dirt.
"I'M alive?" I asked, breathless as tears fell down my face. "You died in my arms, Wheeler." Her eyebrows furrowed, staring at me with dismay.
"I'm here Eddie." We stood in silence, taking in each others haunted presence. I walked forward, reaching up to pick a leaf out of her hair. She was real. I let out a laugh of relief as I touched her face, just feeling her. She instantly wrapped her arms around my neck, and I hugged her tighter than I ever had before. We collapsed to the ground, still in an embrace, kneeling together on the dirt covered ground. We were completely unaware of anything but each other. I broke the hug, running my hands all over her, then holding her face. She gave me a weak smile before I kissed her hard, relief flooding over me. Our hands wandered all over each other, in dismay the other was really alive. When she broke the kiss, our foreheads pressed together, quietly crying on the ground. I kissed her again, this time more sure. More steady. I didn't even hear when the rest of the group came into the glade.
"Well, shit." we broke apart, looking up at everyone watching us kiss. Steve was the one who had spoken, running his hand through his hair.
"It's about time!" Dustin rolled his eyes. I chuckled, and Y/N joined in. I gave her one last hug before helping her to her feet. She filled us all in on how Vecna got to her, giving her a vision of me. She'd wandered out of the house in the middle of the vision, finding herself in the middle of the woods with a twisted ankle. I squeezed her hand tightly as she told us all of this. She looked over at me and gave me another smile, which I returned.
"Do you remember anything from your vision?" I asked. "Did I say anything to you?" Her smile fell and she stared into my eyes.
"I umm...don't remember." I gave her a questioning look. "What about you? Did I say anything worth mentioning?"
I love you.
"Um...it's not important." I said with a soft smile.
There would be time for that.
But for now, I held her hand tightly as Dustin guided us out of the woods and out into the sun.
The following months, Y/N hardly left my side.
The rest of the school year she hardly left my side, and we graduated together later that year.
It was perfect.
She was perfect.
We had both finally found someone to need us.
And shit, did I need her.
And shit
Did I love her.
I knew this would be my year.
THE END.
