King Triton holds the flower Ariel gave him, laughing.

"Let's see, now... Oh, who could the lucky mermaid be?"

Triton notices Sebastian nervously standing there and coughs to compose himself.

"Come in, Sebastian." King Triton invited.

"I mustn't overreact. I must remain calm." Sebastian mumbled, walking towards the throne.

Sebastian scampers down the path to the towering throne.

"Yes," Sebastian said in a high voice, before composing himself, "Yes, Your Majesty."

"Now, Sebastian, I'm concerned about Ariel. Have you noticed he's been acting peculiar lately?"

"Peculiar?" Sebastian asked, trying to seem confused and innocent.

"You know, moaning about, daydreaming, singing to himself... You haven't noticed, hmm?"

"Oh - well, I -" Sebastian stuttered, his voice not working.

"Sebastian..." King Triton pushed.

"Hmmm?"

"I know you've been keeping something from me...: King Triton beckoned Sebastian, urging the crab to spill.

Sebastian takes a gulp, "Keeping... something?"

"About Ariel?" King Triton tries again.

Sebastian notices his legs are shaking and covers them.

"Ariel?" Sebastian repeated the name as if he never heard it before.

"In love?" King Triton coerced Sebastian.

"I tried to stop him, sir. He wouldn't listen. I told him to stay away from humans - they are bad, they are trouble, they-" Sebastian cried, tugging at the king's beard.

"Humans? What about humans?" King Triton shouted, his eyes flaming with rage.

"Humans?" Sebastian laughed, "Who said anything about humans?"

Triton grabs Sebastian and pulls him away.
