Lance picked up the phone.
'Ah, hello, Lance. I am very glad that you picked up. I have a job for you. '
He recognized that voice: 'Ash! How are you doing? And job? What are you talking about?'
'I am fine. There has been an incident today. Just watch the news. Then, run a quite check into the military assets of every region, Kanto to Galar. And I mean everything... shipments, armories, military bases, your own G- man bases... then send me a list of the passengers on Flight 704. And report about their jobs and background... if they are likely to be in the spotlight. Also, after investigating the weapons, send me a report. It is essential. '
The phone turned off.
*****
Lance flicked through the TV.
His horror was to behold.
'N- n- no w- way. '
He ran checks for the rest of the night. There were scans and calls and collection of evidences, but Lance sat through the night and did it.
Guess what he found:
a. There has been missing weapons cases of a budget of 400 trillion poke $.
b. Open diversion, i.e. hijacking and close diversion, i.e. theft were the main methods.
c. The cases were 456 thefts, 120 robberies, 52 hijackings and 91 bribe- and- theft in a span of 16 years.
d. All these cases had something in common, as there was no known thief, no one took credit and no one was left alive.
e. In addition to this, around 600 billion poke $ worth of military weapons had been intentionally destroyed by sabotage and terrorists.
f. Not only weapons, but military personnel had also been converted, leading to a high number of people deserting and going rogue.
g. Certain evidence was unintentionally left behind, that proved that there were leaks in all the systems.
h. The efficiency of the military and the G- men had been blown to the ashes 16 years ago.
i. The list of passengers on Flight 704 included Cynthia Shirona, Paul Shinji and Gary Oak, who had connections to Ash Ketchum.
j. Top military leaders like Lieutenant Surge, (Vermillion City Gym Leader and army leader during Pokémon World War 2) and Drake Genji (top Hoenn Elite Four, ship Captain and ex- Admiral who fought both the Pokémon World Wars) were also on the list of passengers.
Lance was stunned by the discovery. After a bit of hesitation, he decided that Ash should be informed. If he had raised the issue, he was neck- deep in the situation and trying to get him out of said situation was futile.
Fingers fumbling, he picked up the phone. He had to dig deeper.
