'Ah, so... all of you are here.'
Giovanni, Archie, Maxie, Cyrus, Ghetsis, Lysandre. The leaders of Rocket, Aqua, Magma, Galactic, Plasma, Flare.
'Yes. ' came the resounding answer.
'Good. I understand at least five of you want... revenge.' Mysterious voice told them aloud. 'And you want the kid removed for his frustrating intervention First thing first, we need a coup. Lance has to be removed. '

'This is Pokémon Global reporting! Breaking news! Today, a military coup took place, first at Kanto and shortly later, at Johto. Lance Wataru was captured and killed. The new military governments reported that the coup was due to brutal and dictatorial policies formulated by him. They accused Lance and his supporters of ruthless purges of even reasonable dissidents. Several G- Men insiders also reported that Lance planned the murder of Simon Stone, the father of Steven Stone, the Hoenn champion.'
A TV remote crashed into the TV. THANKABOOM!
'Bullshit! Plain Bullshit!' Ash screamed.
Charizard's new form, a combination of the appearance and attributes of X and Y, had sparked off a jubilant celebration, when Steven and Diantha, white- faced, dropped in and told them to turn on the news.
RING! RING!
It was the Pokedex. Ash picked it up.
It revealed the white face of Professor Samuel Oak.
'Ash, you heard of the coup around here, right?'
'Yes! What happened?'
'Shortly after that, regime gunships came to Pallet Town. I came to know after I heard explosions at the inner end of the town.'
Ash paled drastically. The temperature of the room seemed to fall several degrees. He knew who lived at the extreme end of the town...
'And? And what happened? What happened, Professor Oak!'
'Um... they killed one person. The air force people said that they were looking for a suspected terrorist who was, apparently, working with Lance.'
'Who was it, Professor? For Arceus' sake, who was it?'
'Your mother, Ash. She was killed by the air strike.'
