'Where have you been?' Cynthia asked anxiously.
'Just a bit of work, Cynthia. Jeez. No problem.' Ash replied. 'I am going to sleep now, and get ready for the next match three days later. '
'Ashy- boy, stop lying. You tell her where you were.'
It was Gary. Paul was behind him. Ash and Cynthia looked at the two fuming boys.
'I heard you had been to Steven Stone's Devon HQ at Kalos. Shortly after, terrorists bombed the building and surrounding buildings. Witnesses saw an enormous Charizard and Steven's Metagross bring down the air power. Paratroopers launched themselves in. They were all found dead, shot. What were you doing there?'
As an Enraged Cynthia turned on Ash, he hastily replied: 'Er... well, I was visiting Steven after his father's death. Condolences.'
'Lies, Ketchum, and you know it.'
He had never, ever, heard Paul speak like this before. Just then, Bonnie, Serena and Clemont (panting, as usual, came into the room).
'What is going on here?!'

'Okay... so, Ashy- boy, let me get this thing clear. You are convinced that Steven Stone and Devon Co. Ltd. are building a top- secret weapon. You are convinced that some terrorists want them. They have diverted weapons and supplies, recruited personnel, weakened our army and attacked us. And Simon Stone could have been killed by sabotage. Steven gave you... Mega Stones. '
'Yeah.'
'I wanna see them!'
'After seeing the world- destructive nuclear arsenal, this is what he is concerned about?!' Cynthia incredulously asked.
'This feels like a crime thriller...' Clemont whispered. 'The wonder caused by science... and the destructive power...'

'This is X, this is Y. We are going to put them both on Charizard. The neck, of course, and I will then press. Clear?'
'Affirmative!' came the chorus.
'Testing... three... two... one... Charizard, Mega Evolve!'
A blinding light engulfed Ash, and another engulfed Charizard... but were they... three...?
Everyone stared at the new Charizard in absolute wonder.
For it was neither X nor Y.
