'They struck the Gulf, sir. Seventeen oil wells were blown, and we lost an aircraft carrier, two submarines, 32 tanks, 41 artillery and 397 men, as well as 800 plus civilians working on the oilfield. Bad, sir. The Operation: Desert Storm was a bad one.'
Steven looked surprised: 'What? They blew our oil supplies?'
'Yes, sir. Some 103 Hornets and Hurricanes hit the area. HNS Daring Eagle was not prepared. We also did not have SAMs or Surface Raiders. Strikes hit HNS Blower and HNS Raider, sinking them. We did not think they would strike so fast.'

'Striking our oil supplies is a major strategic attack. And we lost one of eight aircraft carriers... combined the allies have thirty aircraft carriers, compared to some 23 of the enemies... still, our submarine fleet, conventionally, is 336 submarines to five SSNs, or our nuclear attack submarines. They have, at big, 297 submarines, which is a big margin... yes, their navy is strong. We still have a good lead, and even gunship carriers, we have nineteen to sixteen, but they have better peak production capabilities required for wartime. And we cannot let such a blunder occur, because... we also lost 160 aircraft and they lost none.' Steven explained.
'You are the largest oil and gold production in the world, right?' Ash asked.
'Exactly. We have more oil, and coal. But our steel, though on par with them, is fragile. Operation: Desert Storm may have succeeded, but we have to protect oil, minerals, food and medical convoys, and weapons. Make more nukes. And I have approved Inter- Continental Ballistic Missiles that can fly 6000km. Their many- warhead Multi- Independent Re- entry Vehicle, will travel 12000km. We are also building SSBNS, the submarines that can carry Ballistic Missiles. Strategic bombers are being built too. We are going to go for a nuclear invasion if all else fails.'
'Steven, can it not be avoided?'
'I will try to. This is a measure to take, for the worst of the worst.'
