Chapter 8- The Interrogation of Ash

Steven Stone stared suspiciously at the butler, Alfred.
He was in shock. Yet, the card said:
ASH KETCHUM
PALLET TOWN ACE TRAINER
CHOSEN ONE
'Send him in! Immediately!' He screeched, excited.
Ash Ketchum strode in a second later. And no longer was he the excited kid. Now, he was even calmer than the Champions.
'Hi, Steven. I came over here.' he stated. 'I heard about your father. My condolences to him, and may he rest in peace. '
'What, here to show me pity, so-' Steven began harshly. His father's death was a sore topic and he still blamed the freak accident. But he stopped on seeing the genuine emotion in Ash's eyes. 'What do you mean and what do you want?'
'Your father was a good man. ' Ash sat down and directly locked eyes with him. 'How?'
'The generator in our project exploded.' Steven replied.
'I am sorry. '
He still remembered.

'But what project was it?'
'Top secret. '
'Arms, I presume?'
'Yeah. '
'Have you, ever, like, considered the possibility of it being anything other than an accident?'
'What do you mean?!' Steven jumped to his feet in horror, his ears ringing with the words.
Ash continued calmly, as if talking about the weather: 'Sabotage? Murder? Terrorist attack?'
'You must be raving! My father was one of the nicest people on the earth!'
Ash continued: 'He was a weapons manufacturer, Steven. And a Champion's father, Steven.' He sat up, straight. 'There is a threat to the global order, someone wants war, there are leaks in the entire system system, and weapons are vanishing. And this has gone on for years! 16 fucking years! Therefore, I want information.'
Steven looked shocked as the world came crashing around his ears.
'No...'
He plunged into his tale, his suspicions of Team Flare and Alain.
Ash looked interested.
'Indeed. ' He stood up. 'One last bit of information, what is the top secret project?'
Steven answered: 'There are certain weapons like missiles, rockets, high- powered bombs, biochemical weapons and such... known as WMD. Or Weapons of Mass Destruction. Project: Desert Storm will add a new dimension to the WMD. By the creation of nukes or nuclear weapons. They are powered by radioactive metals like thorium, uranium and plutonium and just one bomb can destroy an entire city. This is, more or less, the ultimate weapon. 400+ bombs are in construction and the first weapon will be complete tomorrow- the Ultimate Terminator. '
Ash was gobsmacked. 'This powerful? It can destroy the world and rip it into atoms. '
Before Steven could answer, there was a massive explosion.
