"are you sure it's ok?"

"of course! come on it'll be fine." jisung was dragging felix to his table, where seungmin and chan were waiting for him.

minho ended up skipping class that day with hyunjin and changbin. he couldn't have focused on class anyways, his thoughts were taken up by a specific brunette who'd managed to fluster him.

felix wanted to tag along but the three of them told felix that since he was only a sophomore, he shouldn't skip too often, which is why he ended up sticking with jisung for the day. they knew it was a bullshit excuse, they just didn't want to influence felix too much since he was still a bit younger than them.

they allowed felix to be with them when they drank or smoked but they didn't want felix to see them actually taking drugs. felix was aware of them doing it. did he approve of it? no, but it's not like he could just tell them to stop.

since they were older than him, they felt very protective of him. that's also why they pushed him to ask jisung to become his friend. thanks to them, he had not only befriended jisung, but seungmin too.

"hey jisung! hey felix!" seungmin called out to the two of them, causing chan to snap his head toward them. he looked a bit confused as to why they were hanging out together, he didn't think jisung would take their friendship seriously.

they sat down at the table and it was a bit awkward at first. since seungmin had gotten used to spending more time with felix now too, chan was just feeling a bit left out of the conversation, but he felt content just listening to them for most of it.

"so where are the others, felix?" chan asked him.

"they're not here right now", felix answered vaguely, but everyone knew what he meant.

"skipping again i see. probably off smoking somewhere again", chan groaned.

"at least they're not doing it on school grounds right?" seungmin said making jisung giggle slightly as chan side-eyed him.

"fucking minho man-"

"do you have a problem with him?" felix asked. his face and expression seemed genuine but something about the way he said it made jisung feel uneasy.

"he's just difficult to deal with", chan sighed, staying weary of how he talked about minho in front of felix. chan truly couldn't stand minho and it was hard for him to hide it, yet he didn't want to be disrespectful either.

"yeah i guess he's quite complicated sometimes", felix agreed but kept a very neutral expression.

the table grew quiet and a few minutes passed without anyone saying anything. jisung was about to resolve to small talk, which he hated more than anything, to save the situation but chan beat him to it by speaking up.

"i'm gonna go. i still have something to do for the student council", he smiled as he picked up his tray. "see you guys later." they all waved at him and watched as he left the cafeteria.

"he hates me", felix sighed. in reality he couldn't care less if someone hated him, but not getting along with his friends' friend was inconvenient.

"he doesn't hate you.  he's just not used to people like you", seungmin explained as he stuffed his face with rice.

"what do you mean by people like me?" felix asked.

"people who don't follow rules. ones who risk their lives doing dumb shit like taking drugs. delinquents? rebels? whatever you want to call them." felix nodded, understanding. he didn't like his friends taking drugs either, so he could agree with chan.

"way to be straightforward", jisung sighed rubbing his temple.

felix only offered a smile as he shook his head. "i like his straightforwardness", he said causing seungmin to laugh, however he hid it behind his hand.

"chan is a nice person. he's friendly to anyone but i guess there are people he's wary of and you're one of them. but once he warms up to you, you'll like him", seungmin said and jisung put a reassuring arm around felix's shoulders. "it'll be fine, don't worry."

felix flashed them a half-hearted smile.

"hey, do yo want to hang out after school?" felix asked them after a while and they both agreed.

"do you mind if my friends are there too?" this time his voice was a lot quieter but still audible enough.

seungmin shot jisung a look, feeling a bit unsure but jisung only smiled at him. seungmin mentally sighed, as long as jisung was going too he'd feel a lot more comfortable.

"of course we don't."

a/n: just wanted to say a quick thank you to the people who are actually taking their time to read this :)
