"why won't you let me see him?"
minho slammed his hands onto the cafeteria's table, the loud sound catching other student's attention.
chan sighed, not being fond of minho pestering him.
"he doesn't want to see anyone right now", he answered nonchalantly, the same way he did every time, before going back to eating his lunch.
seungmin sent him look, feeling chan could be a bit more empathetic. but he couldn't force chan to act nice either, considering he loathed minho. so for once, he decided to keep his mouth shut and opinion to himself.
after jisung's little incident with changbin, he hadn't come back to school. he finally made up with chan, needing his and seungmin's support the most at the moment.
jisung was embarrassed about what had happened. he didn't want to go to school because that meant seeing minho and the others, or more importantly changbin, meaning he'd probably have to explain himself.
but he just wasn't ready to talk about it.
"but he wants to see you? last thing i remember, you guys got in a fight and he ignored you for days", minho spat. he leaned closer to chan, hoping the other would crack under the tension, but of course he wouldn't.
"why won't you let me see him." minho hated how desperate he sounded.
technically he could visit jisung any time, since he did know where he lived, but chan kept telling minho to leave him alone. as much as he wanted to be with the younger, he didn't want to force anything if he actually felt uncomfortable seeing him.
"because you're bad for him", chan stated. "leave him alone, he doesn't want to see you right now."
"is that what he said? or is it just you putting words in his mouth?" minho snapped at chan. "who are you to decide what's good or bad for him?"
"because i know a lot more than you do!" chan yelled. he quickly stood up, knocking his chair over in the process. his voice had been loud enough for everyone to hear, every single student now staring at them.
"chan calm the fuck down. if you know more than him, you know there's no reason for you to get mad at him", seungmin spoke up.
he was fed up with how both of them were acting. worst part was that they had to do this during lunch. poor guy couldn't even eat in peace.
"are you defending him? do you even hear what you're saying?" chan mockingly asked but regretted it as soon as he saw seungmin's expression change to an irritated one.
chan took a deep breath, trying to not lash out at seungmin too.
"i'm sorry seungmin. but you-", he pointed an accusing finger at minho, "you know nothing. stay out of it", chan said, his voice being an octave lower than usual. minho hated to admit that it made him feel a little uneasy.
chan stormed out of the cafeteria. minho looked at him, his eyes filled with nothing but annoyance.
seungmin sighed. he wished they could get along for jisung's sake.
"don't worry. jisung will come back soon", seungmin reassured, packing his stuff together. he reached for chan's tray, he'd have to return it since chan had left it there.
"will you let me see him?" minho asked. he didn't know if he'd get through to seungmin, they'd built a weird friendship over the past few days. he wasn't even sure he could call it that.
"no."
minho and pouted and let out a whine.
seungmin only smiled at him pityfully. "jisung's just having a hard time. chan's not lying when he said he doesn't want to see anyone right now." hearing seungmin say that made a big frown spread across minho's features.
he hated knowing jisung wasn't doing well, but not being able to do anything about it. it made him feel helpless.
"give him some space. he'll be back before you know it. please respect him enough to leave him alone until he's ready."
minho nodded. "can you tell me what happened?"
"no. it's better you hear it from him, but don't push him."
minho nodded again.
"can you tell him i miss him? he hasn't been reading my texts."
seungmin smiled at him. minho really wasn't as bad as he initially thought he was, which is also why he was the one to give minho jisung's number (of course only after getting jisung's permission).
