jisung woke up the next day to a knock sounding on his front door.
he groaned as he got up from his bed, trying to rub the sleep out of his eyes. checking his phone, he realized it was almost 1pm but he couldn't care less. he'd just gotten some of the best hours of sleep in his entire life.
while jisung walked to the front door, he scrolled through all the worried messages he'd gotten from chan, asking why neither him nor seungmin were in school. he didn't know what excuse to tell him so he decided he'd answer chan later.
he peaked through the peep-hole, checking who was on the other side of the door. since there were many weird people in the area, he had to see who was knocking on his door first.
"hey, what are you doing here?" jisung asked as he opened the door to let minho inside.
"hey. i wanted to make sure you were fine after yesterday. how are you feeling?" the other asked him.
"i'm fine. thanks for bringing me home, you didn't have to", jisung said.
"of course i had to. i wasn't going to let you walk home by yourself", minho smiled at him and jisung returned it.
"how's seungmin? did felix tell you anything?" the younger worriedly asked, remembering the state his friend had been in last night.
"felix said he was doing a lot better", minho reassured and the other let out a sigh of relief.
"you probably came to get your stuff back right?" jisung said before he disappeared into his room to get his bag.
at first minho didn't know what he was talking about, but his eyes widened when jisung walked up to him with his weed and cigarettes. "right, yeah. i need those back", he mumbled, scratching the nape of his neck.
"you didn't smoke yesterday?" jisung asked and minho only laughed. "i didn't have to. we got high together remember?" he teased.
jisung looked at minho before sighing in defeat. he handed minho his things, which minho stuffed into his jacket pockets.
"you should put them somewhere else, unless you want me to steal them from you. again", jisung pointed out. minho only grinned before stashing the drugs in his bag.
"you went to school today?" jisung questioned, pointing at the other's bag. he rarely saw minho in school. if he was there, he was always up to no good.
"well, kind of", minho answered, scratching the back of his head. "you were in school but not in class", jisung stated more than asked and minho nodded. jisung frowned.
"why are you so against me skipping and taking drugs?" minho asked, crossing his arms. "i thought you weren't worried?"
jisung scoffed as he rolled his eyes. how dare he use his words against him.
"well apart from the obvious reason, it being that drugs ruin your life, i've only had bad experiences with them. that's why", jisung reasoned.
"you took drugs?" minho looked a little shocked.
"no not me. but a close friend of mine used to take them."
"used to? what happened to him? did he stop?" minho further asked but jisung only waved him off. minho couldn't help but notice how jisung would no longer meet his eyes.
"it's a long story", jisung quickly said.
"i have time-" "maybe some other day", jisung cut him off. "i'm still pretty tired", he reasoned with a sheepish smile.
minho only nodded. he didn't want to cross jisung's boundaries so he thought it was best to just let it be. "ok then."
"are your parents not home?" minho changed the subject. jisung internally thanked minho for dropping it. he wasn't ready to talk about it yet.
"no. my parents live in a different apartment that's closer to their workplace. i basically live by myself but they come by like every few weeks to check on me and spend time with me", he explained. "it doesn't bother me though. i mean, it gets a little lonely sometimes, but i enjoy having time for myself."
minho nodded. "you're lucky. my dad's constantly at home, it sucks."
jisung furrowed his brows. "what do you mean?"
"he's just at home all the time, he never goes out. it's quite a pain. that's why i spend a lot of time outside. that's why-", minho suddenly cut his own word off.
"that's why you what?" jisung inquired but now it was minho's turn to be dismissive.
"you're tired right? i should leave", minho said already walking to the door. "i guess..", jisung muttered, eyes trailing behind the other.
"will you tell me some day?" he asked and minho paused at the door.
