"i can't imagine walking home here every day."

"what are you talking about, wasn't this your hangout spot?"

after school, jisung invited felix over to his place since the blond told him he'd help him catch up with all the classes he'd missed. seungmin wanted to come along but he'd already promised to spend time with chan.

jisung was glad that chan seemed fine with felix being around them.

during the time jisung had stayed home, felix was extremely worried about him. he'd go to seungmin and chan every day, asking if jisung was doing alright. a few times he brought brownies (normal ones this time) and asked them to hand them to jisung.

chan realized that he'd indeed misjudged felix and ended up privately apologizing to him as well. while minho also showed his worry for jisung, chan was still wary of him.

"i guess, but it's different when you're in a group of people who you know will take care of you, than when you're alone", felix explained, a sweet smile spreading on his face as he thought of his friends.

"that's fair", jisung nodded.

he didn't want to say anything but he was especially worried about felix, since he'd tend to dress a bit feminine. not that that gave anyone the right to disgustingly eye him up and down.

like today. he was wearing a blue sweater with a collared shirt underneath, a white pleated skirt and some matching knee-high socks. he'd already caught a few people giving the boy weird looks, which made him hold felix closer.

they took a right into an alleyway and they both clung to each other.

"maybe we should've gone to your place", jisung whispered as he gulped.

felix nodded quickly. "i would've let you stay over too."

jisung whined, regretting suggesting going to his home. but they were almost there, it wouldn't make sense to turn back now. felix was planning to spend the night anyway.

they both halted their steps when they suddenly heard a scream a bit farther away from them. the next thing they saw were two guys fighting each other.

"oh shit", felix whispered as pained grunts echoed through the somber street. he gripped onto jisung's wrist tightly, starting to panic.

jisung immediately wanted to leave and go somewhere safer or at least take a different route. however his breath hitched the moment he saw a familiar head of purple hair.

"is that.. minho?" he mumbled, almost inaudible.

as if on cue, they heard a different voice call out the other's name. "minho!"

"hyunjin", felix whispered and a bad feeling rose in jisung's chest. "but who is that?"

jisung squinted his eyes to try to identify the guy fighting with minho. he didn't have red hair so it couldn't be hyunjin. what worried him was that he seemed to be a great deal taller than minho, leaving minho no room to defend himself.

hyunjin pounced onto the attacker, trying his best to pull him away from minho.

they watched as the stranger aggressively pushed hyunjin off and minho was thrown against the wall, falling limply to the ground. felix let out a gasp, clasping his hand over his mouth in shock. jisung broke out into a sprint, felix following close behind.

jisung wanted to call out to them but he couldn't find his voice.

the stranger didn't even spare the two beaten boys a look before he left the scene. he rounded the corner, disappearing from sight.

jisung and felix stopped in front of them, taking in the horrid state the others were in. hyunjin slowly attempted to stand up, shakily holding onto the wall for support.

felix immediately rushed to him, wrapping his arms around hyunjin to help him balance. hyunjin's eyes widened once he recognized felix in his foggy mind.

"... felix?" he asked, his voice sounding hoarse and scratchy. hyunjin was scared, he didn't want felix to witness him in the state he was in. he was ashamed.

felix burst into tears, looking at hyunjin's broken figure.

"no, no felix don't cry", hyunjin mumbled as he cupped the younger's face and wiped the falling tears with dirt-covered fingers. he stopped as soon as he saw the dirt clinging onto felix's face, covering his pretty freckles. "please lixie, don't cry."

felix pulled away slightly so he could look into hyunjin's eyes, his pupils so blown out he looked sick. "i was so worried about you."

hyunjin smiled pityfully but it faded when he glanced behind felix. "i think there's someone we should be a lot more worried about."

felix turned around, following his gaze, eyes landing on jisung calling out to an unresponsive minho.
