Wide-eyed, Kyoko looks at Evelyn for the confirmation and when she nods in recognition.
'Damn, and he chased Arnold?'
Kyoko cringes his face at disgust.
"Ptff, babe, your second youngest is hilarious!" Mio bursts out amlost chocking while laughing. Meanwhile, Evelyn tries to contain her mate's cackling saga.
"What's so funny?" Evan squints his eyebrows and glares at her.
"You want us to believe you accept him as your mate now, when you have been chasing his younger brother all this while?"
Mio wipes the tears on the corner of her eyes, barely containing herself to throw another fits of laughter.
Haedon clasps his hand with Evan's and the latter faking his bashfulness looks down. "You don't have to believe, just accept."
After feeling a sharp pain on her thigh caused by her mates pinching, defensive, Mio tugs the corner of her lips down and raises her eyebrows and looks at the other side. "Whatever, you say big guy."
Arnold, who was quiet the whole time, wanted to get rid of Evan from the beginning but since he knew how his brother was infatuated with the omega, he had been letting it slide all the time. However, this was a different case. This total one eighty of his personality, even a baby could see how fake it was.
"Give us a reason to accept." He looks at Haedon, even though his tone had a glint of aggression, his face shows no emotions.
"Babe, I think you should tell them yourself what you said to me on the phone."
Evan looks at Haedon, and pouts. "That's embarassing," he meekly states.
"Come on, it will be known sooner or later." He encourages.
Evan looks at everyone and fixes his gaze at Arnold, while the latter choses not to look at him.
'Let's see, how long you can keep your eyes off of me.'
With a small smile, he opens his mouth to declare what he had discussed with Daemon on the phone: "We will be bonding on my next heat." He announces as Arnold glances at his brother and him for a split second. Meanwhile, Kyoko gasped and choked on the air.
"What?!" Wide-eyed he looks at Evan, not believing what he had just said. But, soon realising the situation he forces a smile.
"I mean, wow. That's great!"
He lightly clapped his hand twice, and contrast to this gesture his face looked morbid.
Evan, not missing the chance to poke at Kyoko, displays a solemn expression and leisurely says: "thank you, and don't feel left out just because we decided to bond first. I am sure Arnold has some plan to form a bond too."
Intentionally, he left out the words 'with you', just to pull out the nasty attitude Kyoko had been giving Evan infront of everyone. However, he couldn't maintain calm preposition as Arnold protectively side hugged Kyoko.
"We have already formed the bond."
His words and the sound of Evan's heart crashing deafens him simultaneosly.
'No, no.'
His hand forms a fist and his nails dig depeer into his palm. Arnold didn't look like he was joking, neither Kyoko looked surprised.
'It's a lie.'
'It's a lie.'
'It's a lie.'
'It's a lie.'
Evan clenches his teeth. 'They bonded? How could Arnold betray me like this?' He couldn't think straight, the man he loved all his life bonded with somebody else. This information was not something he would accept.
Taking a deep breath, he tightly draws his lips into a thin line smiles at them. 'I will f*cking kill you!' He thinks while seeing how happily Kyoko was smiling at Arnold.
In the moment, he can only think about how to break the bridge between them. It doesn't matter if he had bonded with somebody else or not, as long as Arnold, won't be his, Evan was not willing to hand him over to anyone else either.
"So Kyoko is aware about your business?"
Evan solicits resting his chin on his palm. A spiteful smirk hugs his face.
'Arnold, pay the price.'
He thinks.
Kyoko looks at Evan, his expression looked like he was clearly with the upper hand but with a straight face, Kyoko nods. "I've been to his office, you were there too."
"That's just a side hustle, actually he ru-
Evan gets cut off, when a sudden wave of repulsive pheromone clouds the room. Arnold glares at him with a darken expression, the veins on his neck and wrist pops with anger.
"One more word and I will forget we are in a family dinner." He roars in his dominant voice, and everyone cowers in.
Eventually, he calms down. However, the mood was ruined and the atmosphere was much more stifling than earlier.
"I am done." Arnold stands, he looks at Kyoko who too was staring at him with a hesistance on his face.
"Darling, let's go."
The voice was not as dominating and intimidating as earlier, but rather sweet. Kyoko flumbles as he tries to get up and just when his legs were about to give up Arnold supports him.
Not wasting any second, he swoops Kyoko of his feet and carries him.
"Enjoy the rest of the dinner."
He spitefully glares at them before carrying Kyoko out of the dining hall, fueling the anger within Evan even bigger.
