"Mums invited us both for dinner tomorrow" Addie groaned to Joe as she read the notification on her phone.
It was the next morning and the pair had once again woken up curled into each other, neither wanting to leave bed and the warmth of the other. Both of them processing last night, addies brain working overtime over what Joe had confessed. So she had decided doing the dishes was as good of a task than any to distract her.
"Don't sound so miserable, it's dinner, not torture" he chuckled wrapping his arms around her from behind. Addie melted at his touch, but also overly aware they were acting couple like and still hadn't talked, sighing she spun around to face him.
"Dinner and talk tonight?" she asked.
"I don't know are you still making sticky toffee pudding?" He teased peppering kisses on her cheek over and over again. She couldn't help but giggle away, the sensation both warming and ticklish.
"If I say yes will you stop doing that?" She chuckled.
"Never" he mumbled against her cheek, pressing more kisses to it than before. She couldn't help but melt into his body, giggles filling the air between them. "Im obsessed" he mumbled. "You're addictive" he added. All his words threatening to leave Addie in a pile of mush on the floor.
"Joe" she sighed.
"Don't" he warned. "I can't promise to stop if I hear you say my name like that" he said in almost a whisper against her ear.
"What if I don't want you to stop?" She asked, her breathing heavy as he attached his lips to her neck.
"Not yet love, soon" he mumbled placing one last kiss to her neck. She sighed in frustration as he pulled away, she fake pouted and he smirked at her. "Don't look so sad gorgeous" he poked her nose. "It'll all be worth it" he whispered softly before kissing her nose.
"You're a dick Joseph Quinn" she taunted jokingly. Her frustration growing with every passing moment he's around.
"Say it again, I dare you" he warned pushing his body completely against hers making her fall back into the counter.
"Joseph Quinn, you are a dick" she chuckled.
"You asked for this"
"For what?" She exclaimed before Joe scooped a pile of bubbles from the sink and coated her face. He couldn't help but laugh until he saw the displeased look on her face.
"You're dead" she yelled as he ran away from her. Swiftly she wiped her face and chased after him, their laughs causing Lola to join in chasing, barking every time someone squealed.
The pair eventually collapsed into laughter on the bedroom floor, Lola following behind and curling beside them. Addie instinctively wrapped her arm around Lola, her hand petting the long golden fur.
"She really likes you" he smiled at the pair. His heart melted at how the two of them get along, no adjustment period required.
"I like her too" Addie cooed pressing a kiss to the dogs forehead. The pair fell back into a comfortable silence sitting on the floor, addies eyes trailed to Joe's bookcase beside his bedroom door, reminding her that she was to return to work in 2 days. The reminder sent a sense of dread through her body, she didn't enjoy her job anymore, it was male dominated and no one truly took her opinions seriously enough because she was young, and a woman.
"Penny for your thoughts?" Joe nudged her. She sighed as her eyes met his, the brown orbs melted her brain, made it impossible to ever lie to him.
"Work" she huffed. "I have to go back soon. I've used all my holidays for the year" she shook her head.
