"I'm never touching a drop of alcohol ever again" groaned Adrianna.

"I'm with you on that one" Elle groaned too. The pair weakly high fiving.

The pair were lying flat out on Adrianna's bed at her parents house, both of them not wanting to move from the hangovers present.

"I feel like someone hit me in the head with one of those big things that Thor has"

"You mean a hammer?" Adrianna chuckled before groaning at the shooting pain in her head.

"Karma" Elle bluntly said.

"Where did you go off to last night?" Elle asked.

"Just here. Caleb and I argued over the phone and I needed some quiet time" Adrianna stated. "However that was ruined by the most unexpected and unwelcome person in my room Elle" she spoke sternly while staring at her sister sprawled on the bed.

"Oh you saw him!" She cheered sitting up before regretting the suddenly jolt.

"Yes Elle I saw him." She scoffed. "Didn't think to tell me he'd be here did you?"

"It slipped my mind"

"Sipped your mind my arse" she chuckled playfully punching her sisters arm.

"Did you two talk?"

"I honestly don't remember much other than him being here, then me leaving and hiding in the bathroom until he left" she shrugged. "The rest is blurry." Adrianna groaned.

"Was it as bad as you thought it'd be?" Elle asked. Adrianna thought for a moment, trying to rack her brain for her emotions she felt the night before.

"I didn't punch him or cry so I think that counts for something right?"

"What really happened between you two that solidified that you'd leave without saying anything?" Elle asked warily, she knew Adrianna refused to answer this question every time she asked but she had to know. Adrianna sighed and got up from the bed walking over to her desk.

"I don't want to talk about" she mumbled as she started pulling the pictures of her and Joe down. "These stupid fucking costumes" she groaned pulling the last ones off.

"You know mums going to come in here when you go home and put all those back up right?" Elle laughed. Elle got up and stood beside Adrianna, she took the pictures from her hand, flipping through them.

"I'm hoping she takes the hint for once" Adrianna groaned.

"Don't be too hopeful." Elle chuckled.

"Elle, Adrianna" their mother called. "Come downstairs for lunch before you both go home." She shouted from the kitchen.

The pair looked at each other with distaste at the idea of food but knew if they didn't go down they'd get a lecture from their mother. Despite them both being adults who don't live there anymore, they knew better than to ignore her request so they headed down the stairs to lunch.

As Adrianna walked through the kitchen door she immediately stopped in her tracks at the sight of Joe, sitting with her family at the table. Her mind flashed a million questions and answers as he smiled her way and gave her a small wave. She couldn't help but mentally scold herself for coming downstairs in her fuzzy Christmas pyjamas that so happened to be the only ones in the closet that still fit.

"What is he doing here?" She bluntly snapped to her mother.

"Adrianna Bennett that is not how we greet our guests." She scolded. "I saw Joe at the party last night and told him to come here for lunch today for a catch up." She smiled looking at Joe. "It's been too long hasn't it John" she asked directing towards Adrianna's father. John simply nodded, knowing better than to get in the middle of his wife and daughter typical arguments.
