"I hated the last three houses" Addie sighed in defeat as she threw down a stack of papers.

"Amen" Joe groaned throwing himself down on the couch.

"No one's ever told me that finding a house you like is difficult." Addie explained. "However here we are, finding it harder than speaking fucking Latin" she added angrily flipping through all the paperwork again.

"unum convenit" Joe exclaimed back. Addie held a blank stare at him before rolling her eyes.

"Of course you bloody know Latin"

"Only a little" he smiled widely.

Addie and Joe had been viewing houses during any second of free time they had the past 2 days. However the activity had been nothing but entirely unsuccessful, leaving them both exhausted and defeated.

"Have you spoken to Maurine today? She said she'd send over more options but I haven't received an email yet" she asked.

"No but the woman is 62 and didn't know how a FOB key worked, so I'm not confident she can work email" Joe chuckled.

"I know but Maurine helped my parents pick their house so she's special to me" Addie pouted. "I'll give her a call later" she sighed. Addie had been feeling especially deflated from it all, she assumed finding another place to lease would be as easy as 123 and she hated being wrong about anything, especially considering the whole reason they were moving was because of her.

"How about we go out for a walk? I'm sure there's some open houses we can just stumble into?" He suggested.

"It's cold out" Addie whined.

"Correct" he agreed. "However that means it's perfect weather to grab a hot chocolate and look at the Halloween decorations everyone has up. Maybe pick a few for the apartment?" he bribed her. He knew she couldn't resist the whole idea of Halloween, she loved the holidays and going all out for them when she was younger. Addie's face lit up, Caleb hated the holidays and never allowed her to fully celebrate them, he'd hire people to decorate for Christmas and that was it, she wasn't allowed an input- he deemed it rather childish in his head.

"Can we?" She beamed. "I haven't had a chance to buy things like that in years" she chuckled. Joes face fell, he always found his heart dropping and breaking in sympathy when he realised she was deprived of enjoyment for so long.

"We can buy all the Halloween decorations you want love" he mumbled pressing a kiss to her forehead. "Hurry and get your coat darling" he ushered her. With no complaints Addie dragged herself off the couch, that she was sure had officially moulded into the shape of her, and grabbed her coat and boots excitedly.

"Can we stop by a book store while we're out? I want to grab a few new books for inspiration" she asked sweetly as she tied the laces to her boots. Joe rolled his eyes with a smile plastered on his face.

"You don't have to ask Addie" he shook his head. "Of course we'll stop by a book store" he smiled softly. He knew her obsessive asking for permission for simple things was due to how controlling her relationship truly was with Caleb, he could always see her mind whirl at the simplest of things. He knew is was a trauma response for her, she always asked before she did anything, even just getting water, then acted like it was a big deal when he agreed to going somewhere she wanted.

"Sorry" Addie mumbled when she noticed Joe's sad expression.

"Addie, baby, please don't apologise for anything" he gushed grabbing his keys, stuffing them in his pocket as he made his way to the door where she was sat with the most innocent expression upon her face. He held out his hand for her to take, and with no complaints she did. Their hands always intertwined so perfectly and they both felt it. A little universal tug of joy at the way her fingers slotted between his comfortably and with ease. They stood there for a moment, staring at their hands intertwined perfectly, them both allowing the moment to just collectively stand still.
