"How do you feel about going to see a movie today?" Addie chimed as she walked into the kitchen, her senses filled with the full English breakfast Joe was preparing. He gave her a sympathetic look before answering her."I'm sorry Addie I've got filming today" He apologised, Addie fake pouted and sighed as she sat down at the breakfast bar. "You can however come with me? It's not quite seeing a movie with me but it is seeing me in a movie?" He added. She immediately perked up. She couldn't lie, she was extremely interested in what his day filming truly looked like, but she never wanted to ask an intrude.
"Really? I won't be in the way?" She asked hesitantly. Joe immediately shook his head as he fished up the remainder of the breakfast.
"Of course not. I do have to warn you though, it's incredibly boring" he chuckled.
"Looking at your face all day could never be boring" she joked. Joe chuckled again before the comment reminded him that they were still to have a talk about what they're doing here, do they want this to go somewhere or should they stop. He awkwardly shifts in his chair before inhaling preparing what to say.
"We should talk later." He said bluntly. Addies stomach knotted knowing this would come up eventually. Her eyes met his and she noticed how uncomfortable he was too, she was pretty relieved the feeling of awkwardness was mutual.
"How about tonight? At dinner?" She asked. "I'll cook" she chimed happily trying to lighten the mood.
"Tonight yes, but I'll cook." He said. She shot him a confused glare before he defended himself .
"I like cooking for you" he shrugged. This wasn't a complete lie, if he was honest half of him only said he'd cook because Addie was a terrible cook, to the point where he'd seen her burn almost every dish she'd ever attempted to make. Baking however? She was wonderful at. He didn't find the two drastically different, but clearly they must be. Addie looked at him hesitantly for a moment, noticing he rejected her cooking very quickly."Joseph Quinn is there something wrong with my cooking?" She teased raising her eyebrows at him suspiciously, Joe chuckled and shook his head. "I'll have you know I'm wonderful" she teased defensively. Truly she knew she couldn't cook to save her life, but it was too fun watching Joseph get all flustered.
"Tell that to the pasta you burned so badly it caught fire" Joe laughed. Addie acted fake offended but couldn't keep the act up before bursting into a fit of laughter.
"I wish I could defend myself, but you're absolutely right" she laughed. "How about I make dessert while you cook then, does that seem fair?" She asked. Joe nodded immediately.
"Only if it's sticky toffee pudding" he said excitedly, Addie rolled her eyes, remembering all the times he'd begged her to make it over the years, truth is she hadn't made it since the last time he asked 6 and a half years ago so the recipe was definitely hazy to her.
"Deal" Joe smiled.
"What does one wear to a movie set?" Addie asked curiously, unsure if there was some unspoken rule about appropriate attire. The last thing she wanted to do was show up to set and stand out ridiculously, embarassing herself and Joe.
"Whatever one feels comfortable in sweetheart" he shrugged. "That blue jumper I saw in your suitcase is cute." He smiled. Addie looked at him confused for a moment before she remembered what one he was talking about.
"The one with the daisy embroidered on the sleeve?"
"Exactly that one. That and some leggings would be cute and comfortable, set days are usually quite long and I don't want you to be uncomfortable" he stated before getting up and placing a kiss on the top of her head. Addie smiled at the small interaction, it was comforting and reassuring to her that they had slipped back into being themselves after all that time. "I'm just going to have a quick shower and then we'll head away if that's okay? I'm a sucker for being incredibly early" he chuckled lightly.
