It was the next morning and despite Adrianna's fears, the day had felt completely normal, no awkwardness, no cringy 'talk' about what happened. Two adults accepting that last night happened and it was okay to happen. However neither wanted to have the talk in fear it would completely ruin the dynamic- they were both happy to play along in the middle ground they were currently on."I fear too many things" Addie groans throwing herself on the couch beside Joe.
"What do you fear most?" He asked her curiously.
"Crocs" she states wholeheartedly. "Oh and people who don't like Taylor swift"
"That's your biggest fears crocs and Taylor swift haters?" He chuckled in disbelief. He was sat reading a book before she walked in, which had now swiftly been placed down to show his undivided attention to her, something she always noticed he'd do, which was so small but meant so much to her. She simply nodded at his statement and continued to talk.
"I just think crocs are ugly and are simply a gardening shoe." She stated as shifted so that she lay her head in his lap and stared up at him. He smiled down at the girl on his lap, her face looking incredible full of concern. "As for Taylor swift" she continued. "If you don't like her, then you're the problem. She's a major feminist, all for woman's rights and advocating for safety for everyone. What isn't to bloody love, that woman is the pope" she exclaimed. Joe couldn't help but laugh at her random outburst, it brought him back to memories of her bursting into his room exclaiming facts about her day.
"If it helps I like Taylor swift" he shrugged. She smiled at him happily.
"That helps massively" she clapped. "Now I can trust you with my real fears. Not that I was lying, those things also concern me but I have bigger issues to deal with" she smiled.
"What are those sweet girl?" He asked softly as his fingers traced the shape of her jaw lightly as she looked up at him. She couldn't help but melt at his touch, it feeling incredible across her delicate skin, it was intoxicating enough to make her forget what she was saying. "Addie?" He spoke softly getting her attention.
"Sorry dreamland" she chuckled. "My real fears?" She questioned before thinking for a moment and sighing heavily. "Quitting my job is my biggest" she said reluctantly.
"Why?" He asked concerned. She rarely spoke about her work so he was happy to entice her to discuss it more.
"Because I truly want to quit. However I don't know what I'd do." She shrugged.
"Write?" He said like it was obvious. She shook her head and rolled her eyes like he was joking with her, however her playful expression dropped when she noticed his serious one.
"I can't just quit Joe" she brushed it off.
"But you can" he stated.
"I can't quit dumbass I already don't have a house as it is" she laughed. "Plus I fully intend to pay the bills while I'm here and I'd rather not use my entire savings because we both know how incredible expensive London is" she stated.
"You don't have to pay anything, I was paying it all before anyways" he shook his head. His hand was still aimlessly on her cheek while his thumbs rubbed circles into her skin.
"There's no argument about it, I'll be paying." She said bluntly. "Anyways as I was saying- that is my biggest fear but I have a list." She smiled. He looked down at her, curiosity filling his face.
"A list?" He asked.
"A list" she confirmed as she squirmed into the pocket of her jeans pulling out a folded piece of paper. Joe watched as her eyes scanned the list and his followed.
