Asking the light

Now, after waking up again, sitting in a bed of others, in a house that is not mine, covered by sheets and wearing someone else’s clothes; I analyzed my situation.
After being swallowed by a huge wave, being dragged to the bottom of the sea, having a vision with a strange woman and appearing in someone else’s house, I ended up concluding that I was dead.

—But... If I am dead, how can it hurt when I pinch myself? - I whispered as I repeated that action for a few minutes. To which, just moments after saying that, a voice sounded in my head.

—My dear Y/N. –As if I were reliving that scene in the depths of the ocean, the lady in white dress appeared again before me. –You have been transported to this world in order to save it from its cruel end. –She said as a warm light emanated around it.

—Who... Who are you? –That question didn't take her by surprise.

—I thought you already knew. –She raised her sceptre. –I am Aqua Regina, the Goddess of the Seas. –She introduced herself as everything around me changed shape.

—The Goddess... of the Seas... –I said to myself. –Wait. That Goddess of the Seas?! –I exclaimed in her direction. –The same Goddess of the Seas who protects the seas and oceans with the help of the seven mermaid princesses?!  The same Goddess of the Seas who keeps the peace along with the power of the seven pearls?! –I screamed remembering everything I had seen and read about Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch’s manga and anime. My favorite series.

—That same one. –She answers by giving me a sweet smile.

The room we were in had disappeared, and now we were in a completely different space. It looked like a palace hall, with a throne in the center and beautiful sculptures decorating the place.
The woman approached a fountain in the center of the room. She dipped the top of his scepter into its water, and as she withdrew it, the navy blue sphere that crowned it was no longer there. She set aside the golden cane, and sank his two hands into the fountain. As they were lifted, a large crystal ball emerged just like the one that had previously disappeared.

—Come. –Commented the yellow-stranded one. –Look carefully. –She asked as soon as I was at her side. –Everything you see here are events that you yourself have seen repeatedly. –And as she had indeed said, scenes from the anime appeared on the large sphere. All of them slightly altered, more similar to the events in the manga. –Now, take a closer look. –The images changed, this time showing moments from my own life. What stood out the most, though, was the fact that the series was always present. On television, drawings, songs, clothes, books... All the moments shown in the crystal ball had references to the world I loved so much.

—What...? –The surprise soon arose in my being.

My life passed before my eyes. And before I could say anything or ask the reason for seeing all that, in front of me was a scene that took my breath away. Tears came out unable to stop myself.
The image of me drowning was present. The expression of despair and fear on my face said it all. Still, a few moments later, my body struggling to live began to surrender to death. And seconds later, it sank.

—Why? –I asked, crying. –Why am I still alive if I died! –I questioned still looking at the crystal ball.

—Because I need your help. –The woman next to me answered.

—But what can a girl like me do? –I commented, staring at her.

—Your soul was stranded in the waters that connect us, which is one of the reasons I was able to meet you in the first place. –She explained, placing her hands on my face, wiping away the salt water that was running down my cheeks. –Besides, you are someone with great knowledge of my world. You know all about the adventures and misadventures of the seven mermaid princesses, the enemies they faced and the alliances that helped the most. It is for this and much more that I chose you to save this beautiful place. –She finished saying, as she looked at me with serenity in her eyes, and then placed her lips on my forehead. As the kiss was undone, everything around me began to disappear. –You have a second chance to live. Now, being part of this beautiful world that you have dreamed of knowing so much. –She said goodbye as she faded away, just like the rest of the place.

—Wait! You still haven't told me what to do here. –I said, trying to touch her, causing her to pierce her body. –I also don't know where I am in the story or what danger I'm going to face. –I spoke in desperation.

—Your mission is to protect peace in the ocean. –She commented simply.

—But isn't that the role of Luchia and the others? Although if I saw Lukia before... You mean I'm neither in the first season nor in Pure, but in Aqua? –I asked quickly before I couldn't see her again.

The answer I received from her was a simple nod of her head as she joined her hands in mine. –Luchia's story has been told, now it is the turn of her daughter. Or rather, her daughters. –As I said that, my mind began to process the information she had given me. –A new enemy has arisen that only you can defeat. As you know, Lukia has a fight of her own. That is why you must now take the lead role. –And with those words, everything went back to normal.

Back in the place that would be my room from now on, my gaze was lost in nothingness. After a few minutes of thinking over and over again about what this place would hold for me, my gaze wandered to a small object that Aqua Regina had left me before she vanished, without even noticing it. And with that, a sigh escaped my mouth.

—There is no turning back... –I said in a slight whisper. –My new life, my mission, begins here and now. –I muttered looking at myself sideways in the mirror near me.
