Her unexpected answer

A prism. It was like a prism. The pearl that was given to me by the Goddess of the Seas before she left, was a small sphere that reflected all the colors. Clearly, that was his goal, to reflect the rainbow.
I didn’t understand why to give it to me, much less why it wasn’t a particular color. Was it really necessary to create a new pearl just for me? That would have given me the skills of a panthalassa would be fine. Although, I also didn’t know if, like Lukia, I didn’t possess those powers.

—How I hate to have so many doubts and no answers! –I screamed in anger looking at the small transparent sphere.

It’s been a day since I confirmed I’m a mermaid. And, although nothing special happened after that event, I began to notice how (on certain occasions) Lukia acted in a strange way.
Clearly, it was to hide Hippo from me, as I "supposedly" know nothing about mermaids. Even so, today would happen that scene so exhibitionist in the beach hut. Therefore…

—No. I refuse. I don't want to see that cheesy scene between Lukia and Kurosuna. –I exclaimed internally as I got up from my bed and left my room. –I'd rather be with that annoying Kairi than watch that stupid scene. –I said to myself in a faint whisper as I walked through the house towards the main entrance. But (to my misfortune) as I passed the living room, sitting there as if it was nothing, talking to my mother as if she had known her all her life, there was Kairi. –Speak of the devil… –I thought as I walked in the other direction, trying not to let either of them see me.

—Ah! Y/N. I was just going to call you. –The brunette spoke when she noticed my presence. –You didn't tell me you had such a nice friend. –Luchia laughed, passing her gaze over both of us.

—Shit, she saw me. –I scolded myself with a depressed aura around me at the call for attention. –Yeah, nice one. –I chuckled, forming a clearly forced smile as I turned around and faced them.

—But don't just stand there! Go for a walk and sunbathe for a while. –Luchia exclaimed, clasping her hands together, emitting a distinctly cheerful energy.

—She seems to have been really pleased to know that I have a friend, but... I wish it had been someone else and not her! –I thought, walking towards the exit accompanied by Kairi.

—Have fun! –I heard her say in the distance as we left the house.

—Okay. I don't know what you have with me, but can you stop being such a pain in the ass? –I asked the red-haired girl pointedly as we walked a few feet away.

—Oh, come on! –The girl smiled. –Don't bother so much. Let's go for a walk, let's take a ride like your mother suggested. –She said holding my arm and dragging me beside her to God knows where. –I’m not going to kidnap you, much less throw you into the sea, you know? –As I said, I stopped and confronted her.

—Look. I won't follow you without knowing where you're taking me. No, not even that. I want to know why you came to my house and took me with you without even asking. –I reproached her angrily.

—Well. If you want to know the reason why I came looking for you, accompany me. I'll tell you everything when we get to our destination. –Kairi explained as she resumed her walk, this time, leaving my arm free.

Not knowing exactly what to do, I followed her in silence. I wanted to know why she was so strangely obsessed with me, and besides, I had nothing else to do until tonight. So, with some hesitation, I walked two steps behind the emerald-eyed one.
And not far from where we were, the teenager stopped abruptly. We both stood on the beach. Away from the bathers, near some rocks, we met face to face.

—Okay, now tell me. Why are you so interested in me? –I asked bluntly.

—And why wouldn't I be? –She said with a chuckle, accompanied by the sound of waves crashing against the rocks. –Although... If there's a reason why I have any interest in you at all. –She announced under my watchful gaze. –But why should I tell you? It's not as if I were a maid of yours. Though it is strange that a princess like you should not have one serving her. –She commented somewhat confused, giving a faint smile of superiority.

—What...? –Taking a step back, I whispered into the wind as I listened to her strange statements.

The breeze shook the curls of her hair at the same time as a small laugh slipped from her lips. Closing her eyes and forming a smile on her face again, set against the light, her figure was more imposing than usual.
Revealing her bright orbs and as if this was all just a game in which she was two steps ahead, the dark-skinned one started to walk in my direction. This caused me (out of fear), as she advanced in my direction, to back away, preventing the distance between us from decreasing.

—Man, your mother had them in her palace and your sister has Sango, who was sent to serve her. Of course, being what she is, is it right to call her a servant or a maid? –She spoke as if it were the most normal thing in the world. –Oh! From the look on your face I gather you didn't get to see this. My mistake. I didn't remember that you could only read up to chapter five, sorry. Apparently I gave you a little spoiler. I hope you'll forgive me. –She explained and then waved her hands in forgiveness.

—How... How do you know all that?! –I didn't hesitate to scream as I clutched my mermaid princess necklace and put myself on full alert.

—Simple. –She replied calmly. –After all... we are on the same side. The dark-skinned one finished, while showing me a locket identical to mine.
