"Katherine, I promise I'll make the drive soon." Alex said, typing away on her computer as Katherine's voice flowed through the phone.
"But you always say that." She whined, flopping on her couch.
"Kath, I literally have so much school work to do. I will come down during break, how's that."
"That's so long though."
"Katherine." Alex said with a laugh.
"I know, I know. Soon is soon or whatever. I just don't know why you won't." She sighed.
"You know it's for school purposes. Plus, I just got home from visiting for Lily's birthday. I would like to enjoy some alone time for once."
"Yeah, whatever. I still think you should visit me. Even Ashton misses you."
"Don't believe her! I don't miss your stupid face at all, Alex!" She heard Ashton yell in the background.
"He's lying." Katherine said with an annoyed eye roll.
"I know he is, Ashtray always texts me how much he misses me." Alex laughed off. "Alright, Kath, I'm getting nothing done. I'll text you okay? I love you, bye."
Once she hung up, she sighed with a smile, playing music softly in her headphones, keeping an eye on her surroundings.
"Order for Raven?" Alex heard being yelled out. She stood up quickly to get her iced coffee before sitting back down. She looked up from her computer and saw a man with pink hair walk into the building. She couldn't get too good of a look on him due to her phone ringing. She looked at the caller ID and smiled.
"Corry!" She said, answering the phone.
"Hello! How are you? I miss you!" Corry responded with a smile.
"Cor, you just saw me two days ago. I'm good though, just getting some school work done as we speak. I'm doin work in Starbucks. How are you? How's the big apple?"
"Not as big without you and my brother in it anymore. Feels very limited now, but I'm good. So, do you and Karl keep in contact anymore?"
"I mean, not really. I wish him a happy birthday and happy holidays every year, but that's the most I can bring myself to do. It still just hurts too much. We're almost done college though, so maybe someday soon we'll talk again." Alex explained with a sad smile.
"So if I told you he's not in Oregon anymore, you wouldn't be mad?"
"Of course not, I'm happy for everything he does. I keep updates on his social medias and from you guys."
"Are you still in North Carolina?"
"Yes, Cor, you know this. Why so many questions today?" Alex asked, nervously.
"Karl is in North Carolina. He took an editing job and is in Greenville."
"Shut the fuck up, that's not even funny." She said, her face falling.
"Good, because it's not a joke."
"You have to be kidding." Alex said, tearing up at the mere thought of being that close to Karl again.
"I promise, I would never. Don't cry, text him and tell him you talked to me. Just reach out and see where things go."
"Doing so now, stay on the phone so I can't cry." Alex said, shakily. She clicked her home button, to go to her Home Screen and clicked the messages app. Opening the app, she got nervous. She scrolled to the semi-recent messages the pair held that was from her birthday a few weeks prior.

My Nimrod <3
I talked to Corry
I'm sorry what?
I talked to Corry. You could've told me yourself you were in North Carolina, Nimrod.
I've just been settling in still. I've lived here a few months, I was just afraid you wouldn't want to see me.
then you're just as stupid as you were at 17.
Alex, where in North Carolina do you live. I'm waiting on drinks right now so I have a little time to spare to catch up and talk before I leave.
Greenville.
Where are you right now?
in a Starbucks doing school work.

"This cannot be happening." Alex said, staring at the man across the room from her.
"What?" Corry asked, smiling wide.
"He's across the room." She whispered, voice breaking as she let her tears fall.
"No fucking way, no fucking way." Corry stated with a smile.
"I'm shaking, Cor. How the fucking hell? He's walking over here, you better not fucking hang up on me you stupid fuck." Alex said, looking at the phone.
"Nope, I am! Goodbye! I love you!"
"Corry!"
"Bye!" Corry said, hanging up and leaving her music playing in place of her voice. He made it over, just as she turned off her music.
"Alex Raven." Karl said, his voice making her tears fall even more. She wiped her face, standing up and hugging him.
"Karl fucking Jacobs." She said with a smile. He held onto her for dear life, afraid if he let go he'd wake up from this dream.
"It's been a while." He said, a soft look in his eyes.
"I guess it has." She replied, tears streaking down her face.
"Why are you crying, Lex?" He asked gently.
"It doesn't feel real. It feels like a dream, one ive lived over so many times. I just can't bring myself to believe this is real which means I'm gonna wake up without you again." She spoke softly, wiping her eyes as she laughed at her hysterics.
"Honestly, I feel the same way." He said with a smile.
"Karl, are you permanently in North Carolina?" She asked, looking up at him.
"Yeah, I am Alex." He said with a smile.
"Order for Karl." The both heard a voice call out.
"Send me your address, I'm going to pick you up after I'm done filming and editing. We're just going to get food and talk for however long we want to. Then I'll take you back home and then I'll go back to my house and we'll text." He said with a small smile.
"Deal." She said, wiping her eyes and sitting back down. He smiled and waved before jogging to grab his order. He walked to the door, looking at her with a wide smile before leaving.
