My Nimrod <3 is calling...
"Hey, I'm at this hangout with the boys right and they tell me we're playing soccer, right? right. and I'm sitting there counting out people and recounting and realizing the teams are uneven. you following, you following? he asked me if I knew anyone who knew the basics of playing and I said I had the perfect person."
"And who might that be, Karl Jacobs." Alex asked, laying in bed with a smile.
"You, I know it's going to storm later on, but were only playing a few games and I was wondering if you could come down and play with us." Karl said, an obvious smile on his face as he was talking.
"Of course I can. I'll be there shortly." She said with a smile, hanging up the phone and sighing. Alex stood up and put on a pair of leggings and t-shirt, bringing a jacket with her due to how cold it is outside. She also knew that she got hot while playing, so she came prepared for the cold but also to play her favorite sport.
Once she arrived, she looked at all the boys messing around except for Karl who sat on the bench laughing and cheering them on playfully. Alex walked to Karl and sat with him, wrapping the jacket around herself.
"Why aren't you playing?" She asked, looking at the guys play horribly.
"I was waiting for you. They suck, so I think we might have to face head to head."
"Like old times, huh." She replied with a smirk on her face.
"Just like how we first met." He whispered, leaning his head on her shoulder. Jimmy noticed the pair sitting and stopped the game, calling them over. The pair walked towards the group carrying on. The people playing were Tyler, Chris, Chandler, Karl, Jimmy, and now Alex.
"So, how dirty do we plan to be?" Alex asked, glancing at Karl before looking back at Jimmy.
"What do you mean?"
"Jimmy, I've played soccer since I was three years old. Am I being competitive and trying to beat you and playing dirty or am I fucking around and not trying overly hard."
"However you want to play. Now teams, you can pick two people to be on yours first if you want Alex."
"You should not have let her do that, Jimmy."
"Karl and Tyler, easy."
"Wow, how rude." Chandler said, smiling as Tyler and Karl walked behind her.
"I just feel offended." Jimmy responded.
Chris just put his head down and said, "I just feel left out." Of course he was faking it, but Alex being Alex, she ran over and jumped on his back to make him feel better.
"I like you just as much as everyone else, Chris." She said with a wide smile.
"You love Karl more though." He said dramatically.
"Well of course I do." She said, getting off and swiping the ball from Jimmy, kicking it in the air with her feet. Karl stared fondly at her, realizing one more reason he was so attracted to her all those years ago.
"Who starts?" Alex said, not giving even a glance up from the ball before kicking it up high enough to catch it.
"You picked teams, I start."
"Deal." She said, tossing the ball for him to catch.
"Tyler, go stand in goal you can pick it up with your hands but don't kick it too far, Jimmy might complain. Karl you know your position." She said, looking at everyone before smiling fondly at Karl.
