When I come around, I feel arms stabilising me though my legs aren't touching the floor. I want to say something but I can't. Instead I moan.
"Hey, try not to talk." I look up to see Austin. I look around to find that we're heading home and he's carrying me bridal style.
"What happened?" I ask.
"I went to get my bike and came back to find you on the floor." He says in a soothing tone.
"Where's your bike now?"
"I left it by the café, I'll go back for it when I've dropped you off home." I nod and turn my head into his chest. "Try and get some sleep, I'll wake you up when we get to yours." I close my eyes and fall asleep feeling safe for once.
"What happened?!" I hear my mum call out. It wakes me up and I turn my head to see her standing on the porch steps with Justin standing behind her.
"I don't know Miss Jenkins, I found her on the floor in this state." Austin tells her. "I think she passed out."
"Okay, will you be able to take her upstairs Austin?" My mum asks. I presume he nods as he's now carrying me inside. Justin leads him the way to my room. Austin places me on my bed, pull my duvet on top of me and gives me a quick kiss on the check.
"When you passed out, I turned on your phone to contact your mum that you were going to be late." He says whilst placing his hand on my cheek. "I also added my number and texted me on it so we have our numbers. I'll text you in the morning." With that, he left. I hear him say goodbye to my mum downstairs and the front door closing. I turn to the side to find my alarm clock reading 23:55. I sigh and turn to see my mum standing in the doorway. She doesn't say anything.
"I'm sorry mum" I whisper.
"Night." With that, she turns and closes the door behind me. I close my eyes yet I see another pair of eyes. Where have I seen them before?
"Get up!" I hear my mum yell whilst pulling my duvet off. "You need to get ready for school and I need to get going for work. You going to be alright?" She asked.
"Yeah" I said with a sigh. With that I pull myself out of bed and to the kitchen.
"See you two later!" My mum calls before leaving. When the door closes, I drop my head to the table.
"You alright sis?" I hear Justin ask. I look up to see him in his uniform on the stairs. I was blown away that he was actually ready. I smile at him.
"Yeah I am." I lied. Honestly, I feel like crap. I head back to my room to check my phone. It tells me that I have 4 messages. Instead of checking them, I get ready for school instead. It suddenly occurred to me that I was still in the outfit I was wearing to the party. I throw the entire outfit into the wash and get into my uniform. I wash my make up off my face and decide to put a new coat back on. I check the time which tells me it's 8:00am. I have 10 minutes left minimum if I want to avoid Drake.
"I'm off Justin!" I call out whilst picking up my phone and bag.
"Are you not walking to school with Drake?" He calls back.
"No, not today. Remember to lock up afterwards!" I call back before closing the door behind me. Luckily for me, Drake isn't waiting for me but I decide not to linger just in case he turns up. Whilst walking to school, I decide to go through my messages and reply to them. The first message is from Stacey.
Hello?! Earth to Cassie! Where the hell are you?! Text me back as soon as you get this message, I'm worried about you xoxo
This time, I decide to reply.
Hey, sorry. I left early with a friend. I'll talk to you at school. Xoxo
My next message was from Drake.
Cassie, please reply. I need to talk to you. We're all worried about you. Please, call me or text me ASAP!
I don't reply to him as I don't see the point. The next message was from Jaz.
I'm so sorry. I understand if you hate me right now. I really like Drake and I think he likes me! I still need you to trust me though, please. I'll come find you today to talk. Hope you're safe.
Once again, I don't see the point in replying to her. I don't blame her for going for it but, there's something about it which part of my brain won't tell me. The last message is from Austin.
Hey Cass, hope you're feeling better today. My motorbike is in tack and with me now. Text me when you wake up or whenever so I know you got the message. See you soon. A xI smile to myself. I reply to Austin.
Hey, that's good. I'm on my way to school atm so I'll contact you again later. C x.With all that done, I put my phone in my bag and carry on walking to school. I decide to push all that happened at the party to the back of my mind. However, I can't seem to forget the eyes I keep seeing. I know I've seen them before and I hate myself for not remembering where.
By the time I get to school, I see them there...all three of them waiting for me. Today is not going to be a good day I thought to myself.
