Getting home was not as much of a struggle as i expected. I was planning to wait till Izuku left the nurse's office, but my dad was admin about seeing me before he left for work. It was still a bit hard to walk, so Mina's dad picked us up.
"i can't believe they're giving us so many days off!" she squeeled. I couldn't help but chuckle at her excitement for the four day weekend.
"To bad it's under the circumstances..." her dad mumbled from the front. I couldn't help but agree some to what he said.
"you wanna stay the night?!" she suddenly blurted out. It caught me off guard cause a girl never asked me for a sleepover. I always had them with Izuku and on rare occasion i've stayed at Kacchan's. I quickly regained my composure.
"I can't tonight. Dad wants to see me. But for sure one of these days off!" I smiled. She cheered with excitement. The rest of the drive was spent with talks about what we should do at the sleepover. Well, mostly Mina talking. We pulled up to my house and , my dad was waiting out by the gate, leaned against the fence. He was smoking a cigarette, even though i keep getting on to him to quit. Mina helped me out of the car. the dads introduced themselves and made small talk while Mina and I just stood there whispering jokes about our dads.
"Such a vibe," she snickered.
"Dad goals," I giggled back.
"Think they're talking about how to change a lightbulb?"
"Nah, theyre going over the best classic rock album. for sure."
"what are you two whispering about?" My dad asked, raising a curious eyebrow.
"Nothing!" we chirped at the same time, causing both of us to laugh hard. We all said our farewells, and my dad helped me inside.
"you know," he said, placing me on the couch. " Bakugo stopped by to check on you." I froze, shock running through my veins. Why was he here?
"oh really?" i tried to respond nonchalantly.
"yes, he did" Dad was gathering his things up to head to work. "He asked me to tell you to text him." My lips flattened and i nodded my head, trying to push away the multiple feelings i had about that. My dad walked over and patted my head. "Im so thankful youre ok skully. I don't know what i would have done if..." he trailed of, pain apparent in his voice. "well. It didn't happen. SHould you need anything, please call me or the police." I shakily stood up, wrapped my arms around him.
"I love you dad."
"I love you too skully," he said softly, returning my embrace. I sat back down and he said his goodnights to me before finally leaving for work. I was hard having a father work night shifts, cause we didn't see each other much. But he worked hard as a hospital doctor. His quirk allowed him to touch someone and tell what was up with their bones immediately. With his quirk, and my mothers bone density quirk, my quirk was created. I sighed, leaning back on the couch. My phone buzzed and i slipped it out of my blazer pocket.
Shoto: is the paralysis subsiding?
I smiled, knowing he cared. It was cute.
me: Almost gone! still walking a tiny bit weird, but its nothing i can't handle
Shoto: good. i'm glad. How did your family handle the news of today?
me: My dad was just glad im ok. My mom is... well i'm sure shes looking down glad im ok.
Shoto: im sorry, i didn't know.
me: its ok, how was your family?
shoto: My siblings were glad i was ok, my father couldn't care less.
