Kakureta's Backstory

Chapter 2

As I walk by to my room, being excoriated by the guards I remember the note I was giving earlier and start to speed walk. I get to my room and close the door while saying goodnight to the guards, I turn around and jump. There was Jade waiting on one of my chairs so she could help me get out of my corset and dress, I smile and walk over to her turning my back toward her "you surprised me" I say while my heart is still racing from the scare. She quickly unties my corset since she noticed I was getting tired and prepares my silk pajamas as I undress "Thank you Jade, you're such a kind soul" I said with a bright smile, she nods and hands me my pajamas with a small smile on her face. Jade has always helped me since I was little of course she was younger then though, she had small pointy ears with brown short hair all around her face cupping it perfectly. When we were younger she would help me if I ever got hurt, she was my first ever friend and will always be my best friend.

As Jade turns around to give me a bit of privacy I dress into my pajamas and say goodnight to Jade, as she closes the door I light a candle near my bed and pull out the note from my pocket, I hid it while I was changing so Jade didn't see knowing her she would be all nosy and ask about it, the usual best friend talk. I put the note neatly in a cupboard between two books so no one could find it, I walk to my bed and get it lazily not caring about how id look in the morning. When I'm finally ready for bed I blow out the candle and fall asleep

The next morning I wake up to complete silence, I looked around my room there was no maids walking around or getting me clothes like they would normally be or fresh baked food you could smell all across the palace as if everyone just disappeared. I get up out of the bed and sit down at my vanity where I reach for my brush. I brush my hair roughly so I'm presentable enough to look for everyone, I walk to my door quickly and open it peaking my head just enough to look left and right for someone, anyone.

I finally give up after what feels like 20 minutes of walking around the palace, a thought pops into my mind and I rush over to Jade's room, it was small but it looked so cozy I would spend all my free time in there with Jade and talk for hours. As I reach the door I stop and catch my breath before knocking, I do a special knock that me and Jade made up so we could have meetings together but there's no answer. I walk in carefully trying not to squeak the door or creek one of the floorboards, I look around the tidy room and see no one "where is she?" I mumble to myself. I walked to the garden hoping I'd find a gardener or maids cleaning the path but instead I found him...
