Kakureta's Backstory

Chapter 14

After many deliveries it was starting to get dark "How about we head home now?" Her voice nearly whispered. I stay quiet like I have all day and just nod at her, we both get on but this time I help the lady up instead due to her being exhausted. I once again hop on the back and she heads to the next city called Skycove. Almost instantly we get welcomed by the townfolk even the guards welcomed this lady, I couldn't help but smile due to all the kindness and smiles crowding me. No one was grumpy or upset like how it was earlier, as I was stuck in thought we stopped "We're here!" Her sweet voice sunk into my head. I shake my head and look up, my eyes widen as I stare at this huge building with a sign that says 'Valery's Bakery' I assumed that was her name but I heard people say Valentina. She grabbed my hand and pulled me into the sweet smelling bakery, my nose was full of the smell of cinnamon and vanilla it was amazing like heaven, once again I got pulled but this time into the back behind the counter which led to some stairs and a hallway. Valentina explained where my room was and where everything else was then headed to bed 'I guess I should go to bed too' I sneaked up the stairs to check for any creaking which there was, I open one of the two doors in my room hoping it was my room. I peak my head through the door and see a light blue painted room with white patterns and a white ceiling, the room was semi decorated and there was cute blue covers on a bed, I spotted another door and opened it to find different types of clothing folded or hanging up, I picked up some pajamas and got changed then made my way to the comfy looking bed as the moonlight hits my face through a big glass door which looked like a window.

I wake up to the sweet smell of syrup and pancakes, I take off the blanket on me and stretch my legs while rubbing off any sleep from my eyes. I get up and walk into the closet looking through the clothes again properly this time, my eyes spot an adorable dress with a cloud pattern on it so I quickly put on that along with some white boots afterward I brush my hair but as I'm doing so I hear a knock then the door opens revealing the short lady peaking her head in "Ah! You're awake, I made breakfast" The lady was smiling again, she was a very happy lady "Alright, one moment" I return a light smile to her but as she leaves it immediately drops 'Should I really trust her?' I started getting nervous about my decisions 'Why'd I even agree to come? She could be dangerous." I couldn't help but feel anxious fortunately I calmed down and shrugged it off then walked down stairs to the kitchen. Valentina was sitting at a table with her chair opposite I assumed where I'd be sitting, I slowly sit down and start eating, once I have the first bite I can't stop eating 'This is amazing' I thought. The old lady watched in amusement "You seem rather hungry." She laughed then started eating as well. After we both finished I did the dishes while Valentina opened her bakery, for some reason I decided to help around and become a waiter because I didn't remember how to bake anything, worst mistake. Within minutes people were rushing into the bakery making a whole crowd in front of me "Make a line please!" I shout over everyone's talking, it was even making my head hurt. 'You'd think there's a celebrity here by how crowded it is right now.' I thought as I giggle to myself. Soon enough the rush hour ended and I could finally have my break, my legs hurt from all the standing and walking around but fortunately I sat down to the nearest table as the lady closes up for lunch and I start eating the leftover desserts.

As I finish Valentina comes up to me "So, I decided to name you until you remember your name!" She nearly screams with excitement "Oh? What is it?" I reply back quietly I didn't know if I couldn't trust her still, I wait for her to calm down "Okay so I think Amelia is perfect!" I lightly smile at her excitement "I like it, it's cute." I reply. We serve the last few people coming into the bakery and then I start helping Valentina close up afterwards she grabbed my hand and led me to the back door "Come on, I'll show you around the area, I'm sure you'll love it." She looks at me, I nod and smile then she squeezes my hand and lead me to a crowded area with a small park full of kids, we decide the sit down as we watch the children play and run about "This is a small part of the city, aha." Valentina laughs but I just stared in shock.
