Kakureta's Backstory

Chapter 18

I woke up earlier than usual, even before val woke up, I quickly went to the kitchen and made breakfast as I try to not make a mess 'I think I'll make pancakes for me and valery.' I finish the unsweetened batter and put it on a pan that has been heating, I flip every pancake I make by making them all golden brown and making sure to add sugar on top then put the pile of pancakes on two plates 'Oh, she's still not up yet?' I go down the hallway and knock on Valery's oak door  as I slowly open the door "Valery?" I question, she pops from behind the door "Happy Birthday!" I jumped and laughed "You scared me!" I say as I smile at the lady in pajamas. Val made me have a new birthday because I still couldn't remember mine, I could only remember the age I was. As I thought I realised the pancakes are getting cold so I dragged her into the kitchen and surprised her with the pancakes. "Oh my! I should have done that! It's your birthday." She lightly hits me "I didn't want to bother you since I woke up before you." I reply, we both sit down and talk about our plans for today and tomorrow for my birthday since Valery closed the bakery for those days. We finish off our pancakes with syrup quite slowly due to the talking "You can go get ready, I'll wash up." I looked at Val and smiled "Alright, thank you." I go out the kitchen and up the stairs then into my room, I stand still and think for a second 'What do I need to do.' I make a visual list in my mind of what is needing to be done before I go out anywhere. I start off getting dressed, I pick out a cute little black dress which sparkled and had a black trail at the back with the same fabric, I grabbed black heels with lace to go with then I head to my vanity table and sit down. I brush my hair making it a little frizzy then I put on makeup and some small hoop earrings to go with the dress.

I finish getting ready and godown stairs to wait for Val, soon after val comes out her room all pretty and formal, we go outside and walk through the city pointing at stuff through the glass and giggling then Val takes me into a building which was full of people in formal wear, me and Val wait in line until a waiter calls on us and shows us to our table was at, we sit down and order our drinks then look at the menus but I don't confused of all the different foods and names "Wow, this place is so fancy." I look around at the decor in shock I didn't even know this was here. Valery laughs at how amazed I am but as I was going to say something a waiter came up to us "Hello, I'll be your waiter for today, what can I get you." The waiter smiled at us awkwardly as Val orders for the both of us "Alright! Should be ready soon." The lady walks off into kitchen like doors and me and Val continue talking. As we were in mid conversation our small waiter strides towards us trying to look confident while holding our plates, I look at the food in amaze 'Wow, the design is so pretty.' I could feel my stomach rumbling quietly as I look at the food "Go ahead, try it." I look back up at Valery and nod, as I'm eating the dish Val picked out she thanks the waiter then after the waited wandered to another table Val started to eat as well.

Time Skip
(4 Weeks Later)

I walk behind Val slowly trying to guide myself 'I can't believe she put a blindfold on me.' I accidentally bump into something or maybe someone and I end up falling "Get off!" I hear Val playful say while laughing "Are we there yet?" I groan at what I think is Val "You've asked 5 times in the last 10 minutes but yes, we're here." Val helps me take off the blindfold and reveals a stone building with smoke coming out the top as I open my eyes 'A blacksmith?' "Why are we here?" I ask Val confusingly "I thought we could get you some weapons if you ever want to go adventuring, I heard about what happened in the forests with Mr Brench and I think you'd do alright at being an adventurer." She explained, we both walk in and wait patiently for the blacksmith as he gave someone their tools then we walk up to them "Hello, what would be the best for hunting or adventuring?" Val said with full excitement in her voice, the man explained the types of weapons you can get here while showing us what they looked like and then I picked out two "I'd like a longbow and-" I point to a barrel full of bows as I speak then to the swords "Also two shortswords please." I give him a small smile  "Alright, how many arrows would you like for your bow?" I look at Valery then back at the blacksmith "I think 20 will be alright." I said still thinking, the man laughs "Your order will be done tomorrow." I nod then Val and I both leave to go back home since it was late. We finally got home and immediately went to bed after getting into our pajamas.
