Chapter 19

"Amelia, get up! You need to get ready." I groan as I hear Val shouting from downstairs for me trying to wake myself up and stretching all my limbs before getting out of bed and getting dressed, I finally bring myself to get out of bed and I walk to my clothes 'What should I wear today?' I spot some pants and a yellowish shirt that'd look good together and then change into myself, I grab some black boots and a cloak then head downstairs while brushing my hair. "Wow, don't you look pretty." I smile lightly at Valery due to being half asleep still then I go you the kitchen where I grab a glass of water and some toast and place my hairbrush on the counter, I check the time 'Did Valery let me sleep in? It's so late in the afternoon it's already 2 PM.' I looked at Val shocked "I wanted you to sleep in for once, you're always up so early." I nod at her explanation "Thank you Valery, you're always looking out for me." I give her a small hug and sit down at the table placing my plate and cup down as I do to eat, Val comes and joins me at the table and we start talking about yesterday "I was thinking of going to a tavern later, will you be coming?" I asked "No, sorry dear. I got stuff to do." I sigh and nod then continue to eat and talk but I was still a little upset by that fact 'I'll write her a note when I go to the tavern.' I finish my plate and clean it in the sink then I rush to my room and start doing my makeup and putting on different jewellery. I put on mascara lightly on my eyelashes and some natural nude lipstick then some lipgloss over it, I grab the hoop earrings from yesterday and a blue necklace on 'This is the necklace I woke up in when I lost my memories.' I look in the mirror and smile at the reflection of myself, I turn around to the door and leave the cozy room to go downstairs where Valery was waiting patiently for me "Are you ready?" I nodded at the question then we left to wherever Val was taking me.

I find myself following Val like a lost puppy for the past 30 minutes, wherever we were going it was far and Valery wouldn't spoil anything at all "Please, tell me we're going. It's been so long, my legs are in pain." I groan "Stop complaining, we're almost there." I sigh "Fine." We continue walking out into the down a forest path away from the city gates "Where are you going?" She grabs my hand and pulls me into the forest with her where bunnies were hopping around and birds were tweeting as they wandered then Val stopped "You go first." She said pointing at some bushes 'What the.." I nod at her and she looks back at me then stepped forward into some kind of place hidden by bushes, vines and trees, my eyes widen at the sight. There were many people that I knew from the bakery or just around the area we lived, my shocked face turned into a bright smile "Oh my!" Everyone looks towards us "Surprise!" I hear Mr Brench say which actually surprised me, I hadn't seen him out of his house since the giant spider problem "Thank you, everyone." I turn to Valery and hug her tightly then we both sit down on a patterned blanket and enjoy the crowded and loud picnic with everyone in the meadow "Happy late birthday. We were busy yesterday, sorry we missed it." Explained Mr Brench which was a shock. He had a light smile on his face instead of his usual grumpy expression "Well I appreciate you all coming today." I smiled at everyone as I was still eating a sandwich I just bit into, I heard Val laughing at the sight of me and then the others realised and started laughing too which made me join in, after everyone stopped joking and laughing the group continued to talk among themselves as I continued to eat different things like sandwiches and cakes with delicious icing on top.

Val and I say goodbye to the group who have helped us in the past "Goodbye, thanks for the picnic!" We wave as everyone else turns and waves, we walk out of the forest and I try to prepare myself for the long walk back but I just can't bring myself to do that so I sigh "Do we have to walk back? It's such a long walk." I looked at Val basically pleading and hoping we'll find someone with a carriage "Fine, we'll go look at a carriage you lazy bum." We walk along the pathway and spot a messy cart which was covered in marks "Hello?" I called out as we both looked around for the owner of the cart until someone emerged from the woods "Hello, were you looking for me?" A guy in armor says but when he looks at us, his light smile turns almost shocked? However I barely noticed I was questioning if he would even take us or if he was going that way "Sorry to bother you, we're trying to get to Skycove. Could you take us?" As Val finishes I give a quick smile, he sighs and agrees to take us by giving us a nod so we sit on the back of his cart and wait for him to finish whatever he was doing which didn't take too long, we started heading to Skycove but he wouldn't stop looking back at us, I would catch him looking and he would look front instantly 'How strange, what is he looking at?" As we got closer I tried to ignore his weird stares 'What the hell.' the next time he looks I give him a concerning look which makes him stop, after we make it to our small town in the city and Val pays him.
