My brown eyes opened, and I noticed I was in an unknown location. When I looked down, I saw that I wasn't chained, but I could start to feel pain in my entire body. I looked around to see if there was anyone and saw a person with a dog. "Hey!" I called, and the person turned but turned away. The dog, on the other hand, started tugging at his leash. The owner kept him beside him. The dog refused to heal and continued to get to me. Gently, the master tugged the leash and said: "Quit Jasper. Be still" I closed my eyes in pain as suddenly the scene changed to where I was watching a person lying deathly still on a cold hard floor. Someone help her! She's going to die! I thought as I kept watching this girl lying on the floor. Her body was battered and bloodied as if she had been beaten mercilessly. With a jolt, I realized this was a dream, viewing my body as if I were in third person. Is this literally what Kirstin would see if she found me like this? I wondered as I heard a dog barking as if he had found a scent. The scene changed, and I saw a group gathered outside the building. Several police officers appeared to be from Gatlinburg. I saw Jacob with Jasper. Chief Bennet wasn't there, but then I realized there were many unknown officers from wherever this was. Then I saw that Kirstin was standing by Mitch and Scott. They were all holding hands as if they were patiently waiting to see if there was anything or anyone inside this building. Kirstin leaned into Scott, and he had his arm around her. Mitch had a hold of Scott's other arm. It ached me to see them this upset. Mitch's face had tear stains from where he must have been crying. Kirstin buried her head in Scott's chest; I could tell from how her body trembled that she was crying. Suddenly I realized that the police officers were heading away from the building. Someone I did not recognize stepped forward and grabbed Jake's arm. "Maybe we should still check, Officer." Who is that? I wondered as Mitch stepped forward to stand beside the unfamiliar person. "Please, Officer Stevens. For Kailyn," Kirstin lifted her head and looked pleadingly at Jacob; he sighed and replied: "Fine, I guess it's worth a shot. If she's not here, then maybe Chief Bennet is right; she's probably dead." Soon they got sledgehammers that would soon break open the door. Jacob sent Jasper in, who immediately picked up a scent. That's a boy! I thought as I watched Kirstin bolt into this unknown building. Scott went to stop her but shrugged and followed her inside. Mitch sighed before following his friends. Why does he seem more upset than Kirstie? I wondered as the scene before me changed to my limp, motionless body. Kirstin rushed into the room, following Jasper. His barks turned into joy-filled whimpers when he saw me. Kirstin fell to her knees beside my battered body and cried out: "She's alive, Scott!" I then jerked as a gunshot exploded in the air. Kirstin instinctively covered my bloodied body with hers. She glanced back when a blonde-haired woman rushed into the room. Kirstin looked down and sighed. "Jacob! Please get the paramedics in here quickly! She's in a lot of pain; you can tell by the way she's breathing!" I squeezed my eyes shut when another gunshot exploded; however, the blonde-haired woman jumped in front of Kirstin, taking the bullet for her. Her body jerked once, then laid still. Kirstin continued to cover my body with hers for several heartbeats before she relaxed and gently rubbed my arm. Her brown eyes filled with love and concern. They also were sparkling with relief. Slowly, everything went black.
