Pain tore through my battered body as I laid in a dark, cold room. I was lying on my back, which ahced from where I had been beaten several times while I had been in captivity. The straps around my body were starting to cause feeling to be lost in my legs. Will I ever be able to walk again after this? I wondered as I winced. My legs were terribly bruised from the beatings that I had to endure. There were also several burn marks and burns all over my body from where I had been burned with multiple liquids heated to scalding temperatures. I tried to wiggle my arms free, but I was in too much pain. When I tried again to get at least my usable arm free, a strap around my chest moved and was now around my neck. No! It's cutting off my air supply! I desperately tried to get it to loosen and I would drag myself with my legs from its grasp, but it was no use. It only made it tighter. I started gasping for air, then stopped. A sound that I could have sworn was a dog barking. Is that actually a dog? Or am I hallucinating? I studied it then I started gasping for air again. The moments ticked by as I awaited death to take me. I hope that Kirstin can find the strength to move on. I thought as my mind drifted to my friends. The peaceful memories of January flooded back to me and I smiled. I pictured Kirstin's sweet smile and voice and the joy we shared everywhere we went. I remembered the care that Scott showed towards me after I injured my ankle. The care that Kirstin showed after my nightmares. Well, more like, nightmare. No one helped me after my second nightmare. My mind drifted to Disney and the joy on Kirstin's face as she opened her gifts. Those sweet memories brought peace to me despite the terrible pain that I was having. Every single bone in my body felt broken and every muscle felt torn. Even though I had pain, I felt a strange calm.
