Scott pulled up to a dark building and saw that Jacob had gathered some local police officers. Kirstin was asleep in the backseat and Mitch was watching her. She had been up almost all night last night because she was nervous about today. No one knew what they would find inside this building. It was still dark, so Jacob's car had the low beams on. He turned to Mitch.

Scott: Mitch, will you stay in here until she wakes up?

Mitch: Of course, Scott.

Kirstin shifted then she opened her brown eyes sleepily. She yawned and stretched. Scott smiled at her and reached his hand back to her. Kirstin grabbed it and smiled back.

Scott: We are close, I can feel it.

Kirstin: Can I help, Scott? Please?

Her brown eyes were filled with desperation and love. Mitch looked at Scott and placed his hand on his knee.

Mitch: Scott, she didn't help anywhere else. What if we find her? I would want Kirstin to be the one to find her first.

Kirstin: Mitch, it's you that should be the first one to see Kailyn. You're the one that found her gone in the first place.

Scott: Fine, Kirstin you can come in.

She leaned forward to hug Scott. Scott held her close and felt that her body wasn't tense, it was relaxed.

A few minutes later, they were standing outside waiting for everyone else to arrive. Kirstin was casually leaning against Scott and he had his arm around her. Kirstin suddenly stood rigid as if she heard something. She turned to Scott with concern in her brown eyes.

Kirstin: Scott, that was Kailyn. She's alive and in pain.

Another cry of pain alerted everyone and Kirstin shuddered as if she knew that it was Kailyn. Scott pulled her into him and blocked the sounds from her. His heart ached as he heard more cries of pain. He knew that it was Kailyn. Suddenly everything was still and quiet. Kirstin lifted her head and looked into Scott's troubled blue eyes.

Kirstin: Scott, why is everything so quiet?

Scott: The cries have stopped.

Jasper was tugging at his leash, barking at the building. Mitch noticed and walked up to Jacob cautiously.

Mitch: Is Jasper okay, sir?

Jacob: Yeah. I don't know what had gotten into him. Jasper, be quiet.

The police dog refused to heal as he continued to pull at his leash. Jacob gently jerked the leash and Jasper sat down with a growl.

Scott: It's okay, Kirstie. We should be heading inside soon.

Kirstin leaned into Scott, still shaking. Scott gently lifted her into his arms and held her close. She calmed down, allowing Scott to help her stand on her feet. As she regained her calm composure, Kevin and Matt pulled up. They instantly ran over to Scott, Kirstin, and Mitch.

Kevin: Hi, Scott! Sorry we are a little late. Are Avi and Rachal here yet?

Matt: They just pulled in, looks like.

Scott: You going to be okay with going in, Kirstie?

Kirstin: I owe this to Kailyn. She would do the same for me, I know.

Mitch: Kirstin, this is more dangerous because we don't know if this could easily be a set up.

Scott: Mitch is right. One of us could get killed. I can't lose you.

Kirstin: You won't lose me, Scott.

She hugged him in a comforting manner. Jacob gathered everyone around him. Jasper was still staring at the building. His ears partially down as if he could hear something. He lifted his muzzle and sniffed the air. Jasper stood up and barked.
