· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·Genevieve was the firstborn daughter to Ed and Lorraine Warren. They were over the moon over her birth, especially Lorraine, she favored her any and every time. She had a fascination for the unseen and sometimes it could cause trouble sure, but she wouldn't trade her gift for the world.
Okay, maybe she would whenever she would have to see disturbing things.
She just hoped her little sister, Judy Warren, wouldn't have to encounter similar things. The child was a natural curious kid but she feared multiple stuff very fast so she just wished that if she were given a gift as herself and their mother then she hoped that it came when Judy was nearing her teens.
"We need to leave Vivi if we wish to be there on time." Genevieve heard her mother speak from outside of her door as she continued to finish getting dressed. A small knock after followed before the door opened in a slow manner revealing her mother, Lorraine Warren, who smiled at her daughter's appearance. "Well don't you look beautiful. Impressing someone?"
Judy Warren smiled at her sister as she ran to give her a hug. "She always looks pretty." She complimented just as Genevieve thanked her before she went back to messing around with a chicken that caught her attention from outside.
"That is true. So do you, sweetheart." Lorraine said with a grin towards both her daughters.
Ed Warren made his presence known through clearing his throat as he took a stand beside his wife, Lorraine who smiled at his appearance. "Well I hope she wouldn't need to impress someone soon. I'd like to think Genevieve will forever be her parents little girl."
"Stop it Ed." Lorraine chastised as she slapped her husband against his chest in a soft manner causing Genevieve to smile at the two in front of her. She wished for a love like theirs. It was something so pure that not all could find.
The three soon made their path towards the car before heading to where a class would be held in Massachusetts Western University, Wakefield. Her father didn't wish for her to go at first but Lorraine mentioned that it was important, more so knowing the knowledge that Genevieve held.
"Fear is defined as a feeling of agitation and anxiety caused by the presence of imminence of danger. Whether it's a ghost, a spirit or an entity, they all feed on it." Ed explained towards the crowd of students before looking for his daughter and gesturing towards the video so she could begin to explain.
Genevieve smiled a bit as stepped forward as she began to talk, "Take Maurice here. He's a French-Canadian farmer who had nothing more than a third-grade education, but yet after he was possessed, he spoke some of the best Latin that my parents had ever heard. Sometimes backwards." She paused a bit to take a breath before adding more, "He was molested by his father, who had also tortured him repeatedly. A dark spirit made its way in this man."
"Now, if you look into his eyes, you can see him tearing blood." Lorraine added as she pointed towards the video. Everyone watched as there was some indistinctive speaking in the video. Genevieve couldn't help but feel a chill as she thought about the demon who had made a home in Maurice, she somewhat seemed a bit uncomfortable with just the simple thought about The Nun but didn't wish to voice it out loud. "And like, an upside-down cross started to appear from within his body."
Some students let themselves gasp at the sight.
Placing a hand on his daughters arm after noticing her uncomfortable stature over the specific demon mentioned, Ed moved forward to take over the role she would have done. "All right, Drew, you can hit the lights." He said as he glanced at cameraman who did as told but let himself glance in concern over the Warren girl.
Not wanting to admit it as she tried to take subtle glances back at him, Genevieve couldn't help but have a small crush on the help.
Drew Thomas, a male in his 20s as well who had been working with the Warrens the minute that her father put out an application. He tried to get close to the Warren's firstborn but she seemed to be very nervous around him.
She just didn't want him to know how much his presence tended to affect her.
He just wanted to know if she seemed to dislike him.
The raising of hands through them both out of their thoughts about one another. Ed let out a small "oh" before pointing forward to gesture for someone to ask their question. "Did you perform this exorcism in a personal manner?" A woman questioned as she looked towards the one male from the three up front.
"No." Ed denied as he shook his head before he explained further, "I'm not authorized to do so, but I've assisted in various." The woman seemed confused causing him to additional input, "See, an exorcism could be extremely dangerous, not just for the victim but for whoever is in the room as well."
She nodded and furrowed her brows as she asked, "So, what happened to Maurice?"
"Well, he tried to kill his wife, but instead he shot her in the arm and then he turned the gun on himself. Maurice had a extreme life that had been troubled with little to live for and not even an exorcist could bring him back." Ed said before he turned around moved the screen for the projector so he could point towards the board that had three words written out. "Which brings us to the three stages of demonic activity. Infestation, oppression and possession."
Genevieve took this as her cue to explain when she shared a glance with her father, "All right, so, infestation, it's the whispering, the sense of footsteps, the soon feeling of another presence which with being said then would begin to grow into oppression, the second stage. This is where the victim, and it's more often the one who happens to be the most psychological vulnerable who is targeted then specifically by an external force. Breaks the victim down. Crushes their will. And then, once in a much weakened state, leads them to the third and final stage, possession."
