Ed questioned as he, his wife and daughter sat across from the married couple who shared a glance before also looking towards Carolyn's bruised arm. They had noticed it the moment when she picked her arm up to pour them all something to drink. Genevieve couldn't help but frown a bit at the thought of just how harmful this demon could be. She knew the risks, but it still didn't stop her from being a bit afraid.
Carolyn turned her arm so that she could see her own bruise before laughing it off a bit, "Oh! It's just some iron deficiency thing that I have."
"If you don't mind me asking..." Genevieve started as she pointed to the bruise on the woman's arm who nodded as a gesture for her to continue speaking, "Have you always had that?"
Seeming a bit surprised as the realization of the question began to hit, Carolyn let her eyes widen as she muttered, "No. Actually... it started once we moved in..."
"Well, you know, with all that's been goin' on..." Ed began as he attempted to change the topic from the woman who seemed to shiver in fear after what his daughter had asked. "Why haven't you just moved out?"
Glancing at the recorder on the table, Genevieve couldn't help but furrow her brows when she heard a whisper of static hit beside her ear. She flinched a bit when a slight loud amount of noise hit her ear again, but it seemed to fade when the feeling of another hand placed itself on top of her own.
She turned her head and noticed her mother glancing at her in concern. She could tell from Lorraine's eyes that she was asking if she was alright, causing Genevieve to nod her head in a slow manner to create attention to the scene.
Carolyn who had been the only other person to notice, tilted her head to the side in both confusion and concern as well. She was a bit envious at the bond that the two seemed to share but she was also confused and concerned over what was going on because she knew it had to be a bit serious.
"Well, I don't know where we'd move to, you know?" Roger said in response causing the three's attention to go back to the topic at hand. He fidgeted with his mug for a moment before he turned his attention to his wife who nodded at him. "We got all our money tied up in this place and had a lot of repairs on top of that. Plus, I don't know anybody who's going to take in a family of seven indefinitely."
Carolyn intertwined her fingers together as she added, "That's why we tracked you down."
"I'll be back." Lorraine muttered to her daughter before placing a hand on Ed's shoulder and turning to walk out of the room.
Noticing the confused expression on the couples' face, Genevieve gave a light of dismissal with a nod to let them know it'll be fine before also mouthing the words to not be concerned. Roger seemed a bit more hesitant to agree but Carolyn nodded having full faith in the three before them.
"We're glad that you found us." Ed confessed taking the attention off his daughter before picking up the mic connected to the recorder and pressing a button to begin recording the session. He put the mic closer to his mouth before starting, "My name is Ed Warren. It's November first, nineteen seventy-one. I'm sitting here with Carolyn Perron, who, with her family, has been experiencing supernatural occurrences." He paused before turning the mic to Carolyn and gestured for her to speak, "Okay, go ahead."
"Where do I start?" Carolyn questioned unsure of what to talk about for a moment while Genevieve smiled at her and Roger hoping it'd ease some comfort knowing how uncomfortable this situation could be.
Ed stopped taking a sip of his drink from the mug he had to respond, "From the first occurrence."
"I guess it was the clocks." Carolyn started before she began to talk more about what has been going on. She would gesture here and there for Roger to add in his own input, but he seemed to have less to tell seeing as most of the experiences just occurred with his wife and daughters.
Genevieve heard a door open, causing her brows to furrow as she stood up in a slow manner tapping her father on the shoulder to mention that she would be back. He nodded and waved his hand in dismissal focusing on the couple who were recounting all that had happened to them in their time in the home.
Soon as she stepped outdoors, she noticed her mother standing on the edge of the land staring out to the lake behind the house. Genevieve walked over to where her mother stood and stayed silent as she took a stand beside her.
The two continued to stare out towards the water before a creaking sound seemed to reach both of their ears. Genevieve even began to feel the familiar pain over her body once more as she glanced at her father.
"What is it?" Ed questioned as he noticed the two's stance and odd expressions. He had finished interviewing the couple and decided to find his wife and daughter, but it seemed like something had them in distress.
Lorraine and Genevieve looked up and while Lorraine seemed to just see the corpse of a dead woman who had been hung, Genevieve saw the woman move before she had done the unexpected.
Feeling dazed, Lorraine almost fainted before Ed caught her in his arms placing a hand over her head and whispering words of comfort.
Like it was mentioned, the corpse of the woman did something that Genevieve was not used to.
She jumped down from where she was hung and tilted her head to stare at Genevieve before her before running forward and choking her.
Gasping at the lack of air before her, Ed and Lorraine paused the moment the two were having and turned to their daughter helping her remove her own hands from her neck since it seemed as if she were choking herself.
"What was that?" Ed questioned towards his daughter who seemed just as confused while Lorraine sighed knowing the gift that came along with her child.
