7. The mark that haunts you

     All you saw was the shocked expression on the other person's face.. 

     'Y/N?' 

     'Alatus? What's with the shocked face?' You asked while trying to play dumb about it. 'It's Xiao, Y/N. I have not used that name in almost 100 years now.' You turned back to face the pond while hugging your legs, 'right, it's Xiao..' You heard footsteps coming closer towards where you were sitting, a sound of grass and a thud, Alatus is right next to you. 

     'Y/N do you, I mean.. what I want to say is about the mar-' 'I do Alatus.' You cut him off before he can finish. He looked at you with a conflicted expression for a second only then turn to face the pond as well. You sighed before talking again, 'I know, about the mark Ala-, *sigh* Vigilant yaksha. If you may, I'll want some time alone.' The look on Alatus' face was beyond heartbreaking then you imagine, for a second there, you thought you saw your brother being guilty about himself in Alatus' face, making you feel a slight pain in your heart. 

     As you couldn't bear the look on Alatus' face, you stood up and walked further into the forest. Walked as long as you could,  you passed the boarders of a place filled with rich ores and walked into a place filled with life. How long was it? You didn't noticed, all you knew that you walked non stop trying to ignore the memories flooding into your brain. Without looking you walked into a fairly tall figure with a black dog like helmet with purple stripes that just stood out. 

     'Sorry.' You said and tried to walked away when that stranger held his weapon against you. 

     'The ice maiden... Are you here to slaughter my God?' The stranger asked he kept his guard up. 'No, actually It's been how long? oh right. 100 years, how and why should I come and.. slaughter.. your God..' You spoke while realizing what is going on. 

     The stranger noticed your strange behavior and held his weapon down, 'My judgment says you've not the same as from those who seen you in battle. My name is no matter, but you can call me the guardian of the desert, I happened-' 

     'Yeah save me the long details.' You said while cutting him off.

     'Ah, apologies,  I have a bad habit to start to talk too much.'

     'Guardian, your name isn't it? Can you tell me where I am?' You asked while looking around you. 'The nation of wisdom, Sumeru.' He replied, 'The two Gods here came to a agreement, one would rule the dessert, the other would rule the forest for the being.' 

     'That mark.. is it the work of the Lord of Geo?' He asked you, while you bitterly nodded. 'I'm.. a asset to his plans anyways, like everyone who deemed me once useful, uses me. When deemed useless, discard me.' You said softly while shaking your head, 'But it's alright, I got used to it anyways. I should go.. I don't know his temper and I sure don't want to get scolded.' You said as you used your vision to gather the energy of Cryo to teleport away leaving snowflakes behind. 

     The guardian knelt and pick up on of the snowflakes carefully, and spoke out, 'Guardian? I like this name.. although my name is Cnyo. I shall greet you better next time, dear Ice Maiden.' 

     (I know Cnyo isn't that old, although in this universe, I just decided to go futher with that cutscene in chapter two of the archon quest in Sumeru :), so therefore ahem~ he sleeps once in a while to gain energy like a slumber as it is his eternal responsibility to protect the ones whom lives in the forest and desert {desert for now as his partner, -idk name for now- is the current guardian of the forest} and just wakes up when the world is in danger or he has enough energy to go on for a long period)

     As you teleport behind the Lord of Geo you knelt down in respect to greet him, 'I have returned, My Lord.' You spoke out, as your appearance didn't seem to have scared him a bit.  'Ah, Y/N child. You have returned. Xiao has told me about the mark on your body, I must apologize, I didn't intend for that to happen. This is the first time it happens, maybe cause of the bright light when you take my hands.. I have to apologize I didn't know there was this backlash..'
