Chapter 7
IT WAS THE NEXT MORNING AND SHE HAD SKIPPED EATING DINNER WITH EVERYONE ELSE THE PREVIOUS NIGHT, not that she thought she was invited anyways
It was 6am and Ayla was currently creeping out of the room she was staying in. She shut the door softly and padded down the stairs and went to the front door
"You're leaving" she heard a voice. She turned back to see Clint's wife standing there but she still opened the door "Why?"
"I need to go to find my friends"
"Wanda and Pietro right?" Laura said remembering how Clint had filled her in. Ayla nodded
"Can't you find them another time?"
"I can't be here. Clint told you about me I'm guessing?" Laura nodded "So how can you allow me to be in your home? With your kids. Isn't a home supposed to be a safe space?"
"You don't seem like a bad person" Ayla scoffed though she felt tears build up
"I've killed people" the older woman studied the girl in front of her, she was nervously playing with the T-shirt Laura had leant her
"I know. But you're scared, you don't want to"
"I'm programmed" she hissed "There is something in my brain that can't help but listen to my masters words. I'm a puppet in a game. I was born for one reason and one reason only. To kill people. I wasn't born like you or anyone in this house, to be a daughter, a part of a family. It may have been someone controlling me but I pulled the trigger. Me"
"You can't fault yourself for that, you was tortured into it. You was a child yourself"
"Who else is there to blame? The first time I was ever outside was over a week ago. I don't know anything that's going on with this ultron guy because Im too worried about if I get caught by my old base"
"You don't know whats going on?" Laura questioned and Ayla shook her head confused
"No. But that's not the point I-"
"Ultron was designed by Tony stark to create peace but it went wrong. He's gonna gain the peace by wiping out everyone" they both turned to Natasha who stood a few feet away from them and she walked forward "I told them to bring you here unharmed because I knew you was part of the black widow programme by your logo. I want to help you"
"I don't need help" she said turning out the door. She rushed down the porch steps and walked in the direction
"Wait" Natasha called running up and standing in front of her, blocking her from moving "Don't go. Just stay for today and tomorrow. If you want to leave then, I'll get you out. It's not like you know where to go anyway"
