Athena

I never ate so much food in my life. I thought after being starved and hardly caring enough to eat ever again, my appetite would shrink tremendously, but to my surprise, it only grew.

I was munching on my second burger as multiple men walked around the building, holding large riffles in their hands for protection. Blake's eyes never seemed to have moved from my direction, maybe because he is very paranoid he is going to lose me at any second. Which- I don't blame him. We haven't been separated from each other like this before and I was also captured by our worst rivalry. He has every right to feel on edge and protective.

"Are you alright?" I asked as I grabbed a couple fries from my plate.

He looked distant for a second before he recollected himself and sat up straight.

"Of course I am." He answered briefly as I narrowed my eyebrows.

"Doesn't look like it." I replied shortly before I began chewing on my food.

"Why wouldn't I be? I have all that I need right in front of me." He smiled as he leaned over and ran his hand through my hair.

I blushed as I looked up at him before he leaned back and grew comfortable.

"You just look deep in thought." I shrugged before I glanced down at my half eaten plate.

"I don't think I've ever seen you eat so much." He changed the subject as I took the hint. Maybe it's too sensitive for him to talk about. I bet him losing me to the Violet Kings was tough for him. It probably haunted him every single night.

"I guess I've been hungry this entire time but never had the moment to realize it." I said as I picked at my burger.

"How come they never fed you?" He asked as he grew interested.

"I'm not sure. They hardly ate themselves. It's like food wasn't important to their life." I guessed as he narrowed his eyebrows.

"Couldn't be us." He chuckled as I grinned.

"Yeah you would of died in there. But I got use to it. I was so busy I could hardly even think about food myself. So I guess I can understand why." I informed.

"Well it doesn't matter anymore because you're safe with me. You can eat as much as you want." Blake assured as I smiled.

"I've never seen you so sentimental." I commented.

"Oh shut up." He snapped, causing me to laugh.

There he is. The old tough guy who always puts on an act.

"I don't mind it. You're all I have left anyways." I spoke softly as I looked down.

It then grew quiet as he looked down at me while I looked elsewhere, knowing how true those words were.

I could tell it was hurting him just as much as it was hurting me that we lost our beloved brothers.

"I'm so sorry this happened to us Athena. But trust me... we're doing everything we possibly can to get revenge on them. They're going to regret ever coming to our house." Blake promised as I swallowed the lump in my throat.

"I want them dead." I replied as I looked up at him.

"I do too. Trust me. We'll take care of this. We're not going to let them win." Blake assured as I sighed.

"Nothing we do can ever bring them back. You know that right?" I asked as our eyes locked.

He grew silent for a while before he rubbed his hands against his pants.
