Chapter 21: Betrayal
Nataliya awoke, ready for what was to come. She didn't think herself a traitor, more of an avenger. She was getting retribution for what Dmitri did to Ashley... as well as how long he lied to her... Dmitri wasn't an honorable man, he was scum... he treated Nataliya like a daughter as he hid his true self from her. Nataliya hadn't been this angry since Heidi died... She didn't like being used...
She woke up at around six in the morning, it was still pitch black outside. Ashley was asleep opposite her. Nataliya got up and kissed Ashley on the cheek before getting ready. She set her phone down on the coffee table, and brought only her pistols, four spare clips that she had hidden in Ashley's apartment, and a kitchen knife. She stared at Ashley for a moment before leaving.
She drove to the manor and parked her motorcycle out front. She wondered who was awake as she stepped inside. Olabode was at the opposite end of the foyer, looking at her. Nataliya looked around, there were no guards nearby other than him.
"Where's Dmitri?" she inquired.
Olabode looked at her for a moment before speaking, "His office."
He slowly took off his sunglasses and looked Nataliya in the eyes. They stood still for a moment, Olabode knew Nataliya's intentions, and Nataliya knew that he knew. They were both waiting for the other to act. Nataliya pulled off her jacket and threw it on the ground. She was wearing tight black slacks and a tight grey tee-shirt. Nataliya saw Olabode blink, and took the chance, she pulled out her guns and aimed them at Olabode, firing the entire clip from both into him. He charged at her, taking every bullet, and skillfully making sure each one hit him in the chest. Nataliya ran out of bullets the second Olabode was close enough to land a punch, he hit her dead in the stomach, launching her against the door and knocking the wind out of her.
She coughed as she began to get up. Olabode slammed his foot down where Nataliya was, who narrowly rolled away from it before propelling herself past him. She pulled out the kitchen knife she had and prepared herself as Olabode charged at her once more. She jumped to the side, avoiding the charge, and dropped to her knees, sliding on the marble floors, to avoid another punch. She jabbed him in the back of the knee while sliding before rolling back into a standing position. Guards began to fill the area, obviously hearing the fight. Most didn't think it was serious, seeing it as a sparring match between the top two fighters of the organization, not a death match.
Olabode was unphased by his wound, he simply turned around and took off his shirt, revealing the large bullet-proof vest underneath with all the bullets Nataliya had fired.
Nataliya smirked before Olabode charged at her once more. She tried to jump out of the way, but wasn't fast enough, he smashed her through the front doors, breaking them down. She fell flat on her back at the bottom of the stairs leading to the door. She was breathing heavily and had broken a few ribs. She coughed up blood as she slowly got up.
"I suppose I was wrong," he said taking a step down the stairs.
"I'm doing this for love," Nataliya said finally getting onto her feet, "I will defeat you."
Olabode ran down the last few flights and charged one last time, Nataliya jumped to the side and threw the knife into his hamstring, causing him to topple over. She limped up the stairs and grabbed one of her pistols, she reloaded it, then walked outside once more. Olabode was standing up, but not moving.
