Chapter seven
Much to Ayaansh's relief, nobody came and questioned him about why Jaanvi was crying or anything about their little chat. He briefly wondered how did Jaanvi manage to hide her puffy eyes or what excuse she gave but quickly tossed that thought out of the window. It was none of his business.
And he did feel bad about lashing out on her but she gave him no other option. He really didn't like to hear about Jaanvi from everyone around him and then there she was herself. Walking up to him and trying to be sweet and polite, which irked him more. Why the hell was she still being nice to him when all he did was make her cry?
Ayaansh sighed not wanting to delve into matters which were going to make his head hurt. His exams were nearing and if he kept thinking about other things then he was sure, the outcome was going to be very bad.
"Ayaansh," Abir passed an amused glance in his direction. "You have literally sighed for like 20 times from the past 10 minutes. What's wrong with you?" The mere mention of it made him sigh again and his head dropped on the desk.
"I'm so tired of studying all the time," He whined and Abir chuckled while Pranav who had been busy checking his notes, suddenly yelled, "when the fuck was this lesson taught? Where was I? Am I developing some kind of brain illness or have you bribed the teacher to get notes for this lesson?" He narrowed his eyes at the girl whose notes he was referring. She seemed baffled at the accusation and so with a glare, she snatched her book back.
"Loser." She muttered under her breath and Pranav turned to Abir and Ayaansh, "Guys, I think there's something fishy about her," He whispered and indicated towards the girl, "she's trying to illegally top the boards." He concluded with a huff.
Ayaansh just closed his eyes, hoping to sleep for few minutes until the next class started whereas Abir rolled his eyes. Pranav kept mumbling to them and when Abir had enough, he smacked his head, "Shut up! You were sleeping in the class when that lesson was taught. So now either take the notes for yourself or keep quiet." Pranav sniffed but kept quiet.
"I'm kinda stressed about the exams," Ayaansh voiced out his worries. He was now sitting up straight, biting his lower lip and bouncing his leg up and down. It felt like he had studied nothing and the days of exams were nearing too fast.
Abir gave a blank look, "watching you, I'm getting anxiety as well." Ayaansh groaned in response. He didn't even look at Pranav knowing the guy was on the verge of tears. Luckily before he could start crying, the teacher walked in.
They straightened up and tried to concentrate on the class.

Reaching home, Ayaansh let out a tired yawn as he placed the bag on his study desk and sauntered towards the bathroom to freshen up. As much as the bed was calling out to him, he gathered all the courage and ignored it, chanting a 'I have to study' in his mind.
The pressure of the exams was too much and it wasn't even like his parents were asking him to study. His mind was already nagging and making a list of what subject to choose first.
Education is important but why has it been turned into a competition, is beyond anyone's understanding. It is like - study not for knowledge but to get the best grades and get into the best college. Graduate from the best college to get a job with a high paid salary and then put that into a bio data for your marriage proposal.
