Chapter twenty
She was here again. She was back at her therapist's office. It brought a lot of memories; bad ones but good ones as well.
It was Saturday and Jaanvi was awake from six in the morning. She felt restless and the reason was clear—men. God, the two men in her life were rattling up her life by just being present.
First there was Dhruv, the one she did not want to see anymore. The more she tried to ignore him the more aggressive he got. She did reply to him after the threat he sent her but it certainly did not end well.
He claimed that he was going to get her back; his words—not win her back but get her back. She was not a toy but it seemed like he was obsessed with her rather than having feelings for her.
She did not know this Dhruv. He was behaving like an entirely different person and it terrified her. Then maybe he never truly revealed his real side to her.
He had tried to kiss her once, in the college corridor but she had dodged him, telling him there was an audience around. And there obviously were people around and if he expected that she would allow such public display of affection then he was truly mistaken.
Then he had gone ahead and rolled his eyes, "What's the big deal? You are my girlfriend. I can kiss my girlfriend wherever I want."
Jaanvi gave him a stink eye, "You can kiss your girlfriend wherever you want if she gives you the permission." Then she walked away muttering asshole under her breath. It was the first time she had cussed but did not feel guilty because he deserved it.
From there it was a downfall for their relationship until Jaanvi decided it was enough.
Now the asshole was back to proving himself one and had her continuously checking over her shoulder for the possibility of someone following her. She might as well call him a stalker.
Secondly, Ayaansh had been back out of nowhere and his behaviour irked her to no end. She would have been fine if he was the same grump, he was years back but she did not know what to do with this new version of him.
She did not even know if he is back for good or just for some time. Not that she will ever be asking him that but maybe she could ask Kia.
Ayaansh being back was not the problem, him being back after years and trying to step his foot in her life like he always had been a part of it, that, that was the glaring problem.
The anxiousness returned and Jaanvi found herself picking up a canvas, her brushes, and her paint. Painting helped her relax and she could forget everything in those strokes she made on the white canvas. It was her way to deal with her panic and she was so glad she found her peace.
This time though even after painting she felt like she had to talk about it, the frustration and anger that was quickly building up inside her was not a good sign.
So now here she was, in front of her therapist who gave her a wide smile.
"Hey Jaanvi. It's good to see you again." Serra, her therapist, welcomed her.
Serra was in her late thirties but she still had that glow on her face which made her look like a model. Honestly, Jaanvi couldn't tell that the woman was a mother and she could be easily mistaken as a woman in her twenties.
She smiled back, "Hi Serra." There was no awkward air around since it's been years that Jaanvi has known her. Of course she had been very skeptical and closed off in the initial days but as Jaanvi gradually opened up to her about her problems, she formed a special bond with her therapist.
