Chapter nine
Ayaansh scowled as he combed her slightly messy hair with his fingers. Her hair are soft. Creep. Why was he doing this? No fucking clue but just watching that boy ruffling her hair made him want to punch the guy.
As his eyes travelled down to her face, he found a stunned expression on her face. Her eyes were wide and mouth slightly parted. It felt like she was holding her breath.
Ayaansh found himself noticing her features closely for the first time. Her eyes were doe shaped and her nose was small and cute. There was a mole on the left side of her chin and her eye lashes were pretty long. Her lips were pink. Really pink.
How would they feel—
With a violent cough, Ayaansh stepped back horrified at his own thought. He clenched his jaw and looked away from her. What the hell was he thinking and why? Didn't he find her annoying and wasn't she just a kid who tagged along wherever he went?
Taking a deep breath, he looked back at her and found her blinking her eyes rapidly. A chuckle escaped his lips when she rubbed her eyes and then looked at him as if trying to confirm he was really there.
"You—what—how—why?" She looked like a fish, opening and closing her mouth like that. "Where? Who? When?" Ayaansh mocked as he smirked down at her. Suddenly her eyes turned sharp as she glared at him, "Next time don't touch me without my permission." She sassed and his smirk dropped.
So any random ass guy can touch her but he can't?
He gritted his teeth to stop himself from blurting out any nonsense. She could do whatever she wanted and he couldn't care less. With that thought in his mind, Ayaansh glared at her before marching towards the opposite direction.
I don't care! I don't care! I don't care!
His mind screamed as he fought the attraction towards Jaanvi he felt minutes ago. This was not good. He couldn't let her distract him. From anything. Period.

Jaanvi still felt tremors down her spine as she recalled how Ayaansh had ran his fingers through her hair. What was wrong with him? Seriously. Is he sick?
The walk back to her class was somewhat a blur. She didn't even realise when she was back on her seat until the bell rang. The teacher walked in and started teaching but all Jaanvi could think about was Ayaansh's scowl as he stared at her.
"Jaanvi," someone called her bringing her back to reality. Her head shot straight ahead thinking it was the teacher who called her for not paying attention in class.
Her shoulders sagged in relief. "Hey!" Jaanvi looked to her right and found Abigail waving at her with a nervous smile. With a confused look, Jaanvi waved back but immediately straightened up when the teacher asked something.
Later when the class got over, Jaanvi turned to where Abigail was sitting and smiled, "Hi!"
"Would you mind if we talked after school?" Abigail asked nervously and the boy beside her snickered. Both the girls ignored him as Jaanvi found herself nodding her head in agreement.
