Chapter fifteen
The six of them were currently seated on their respective seats as the flight took off.
Sahil, Jaanvi and Abigail were next to each other as their seats were booked later. Ayaansh sat beside Pranav while Abir sat behind them.
"Why has this turned out to be a family outing?" Pranav grumbled and Ayaansh couldn't agree more.
What was supposed to be their boys trip has now turned out to be a family vacation and he hated it. Why couldn't Jaanvi just deny? Why would she bring her friends along on his trip? Was she that desperate to go everywhere he went?
"I don't mind Jaanvi coming along because she's a friend as well, but why is Sahil uncle coming?" Pranav was whining and it was irritating Ayaansh now. Abir could hear him but he chose to keep quiet.
Ayaansh was cranky now. "How is Jaanvi your friend?" He nearly growled.
"Dude she's cute and we've always included her in our group since she was small. So I can't ignore her." He explained and Abir let out a chuckle.
Ayaansh turned back and glared at him. "She is not in our group, Pranav. Fine, she was included when she was a kid but now she's grown enough to make her own friends and plans." His words were harsh but true according to him.
"Ayaansh," Abir called him sensing his foul mood. "We are friends with you before anyone else. Don't think otherwise. We'll always be there with you." He said in a soft voice and unknowingly Ayaansh's gaze softened.
"Of course!" Pranav side hugged him. "Bros before—" He stopped and cleared his throat, "Buddies before bewbies." He exclaimed proudly.
Ayaansh gave him a blank look, Pranav looked behind and saw Abir had the same expression which made him think he said something wrong.
"Did I break you guys?" He mumbled to himself, seemingly confused. "That was terrible." Ayaansh finally spoke, a sigh of relief escaping Pranav.
"Don't ever try something like that ever again." Abir warned him but he ignored the two and thanked the heavens that his two buddies were absolutely fine and not broken.
"So," Abir started, looking at Ayaansh who raised his eyebrows in question. "You got any idea why all of a sudden uncle is joining us?"
Ayaansh frowned. "Wish I knew." He replied, his mind thinking of all the possibilities. Maybe his father didn't trust him enough to look after Jaanvi. Or maybe Zevah and Aditya didn't.
God this trip was suddenly wrong on so many levels.
On the other side, Jaanvi turned to Sahil and stared at him, as if trying to decode something. Sahil felt her gaze but did not look her way. "Stop trying to solve me like your father." He said sarcastically. She jumped slightly not expecting that.
A scowl formed on her face when she realised what he said. "I'm just wondering why you are here on this trip." She narrowed her eyes slightly and Sahil turned his head towards her.
"You mind?" He sounded serious which caused Jaanvi's eyes to go wide. She gulped and shook her head frantically. He seemed intimidating in that moment and Jaanvi could tell where Ayaansh got that habit from.
