Chapter twenty-four

It had been two days since the Dhruv fiasco and there was not a peep from him nor had Jaanvi seen him around in college. Had he finally left her alone? Or was he planning something?

Besides that, the other problem was her exams and she was neck deep in assignments and other stuff. It wasn't like she hated what she was studying but sometimes it overwhelmed you to the point of exhaustion. Also, Ayaansh had been behaving really understanding much to her liking.

He would sometimes message and ask her about her preparation and it would stupidly bring a smile on her face. Of course, she was not going to forgive him that easily but he seemed serious to make it up to her and she was going to take advantage of that and make him suffer. Just a little bit maybe. Or a lot.

Her phone buzzed and she glanced at it irritatingly. Why is it that when I sit to study this thing starts distracting me? She glared at the vibrating device displaying an unknown number.

She picked it up and waited for the person to speak. "How are you babygirl?" A voice shrieked happily and she scrunched up her face in disgust. Eww. Babygirl?

"Who is this?" Her voice came out stern.

There was some disturbance from the other end, before she heard a hushed whisper. "Hello, whoever this is, please don't report me to the cops. I swear I didn't want to do this but this was a dare and I couldn't say no. How could I? I would've been called a coward then and those two idiots wouldn't have let me live down this—hello?"

Jaanvi blinked and then blinked some more. "Just—just hang up." She stated and heard a beep next. She felt relieved because whoever that person was, was batshit crazy.

Her phone rang again and it was the same number. She sighed and picked it up, "What now? Another dare?"

"Who are you?" The unknown male asked and she frowned.

"Excuse me?"

"I just found this random number in my friend's phone and I called it so..." He trailed off and Jaanvi thought about it. "There must be a name your friend must have put in his phone then." She was getting suspicious of this man now.

"Uh no...it's written 'her' and I don't know who her is." That sounded dumb and Jaanvi was sure this guy was making up stories.

"You idiot what are you still doing on the phone. Making date plans with the girl?" A familiar voice yelled in the background making Jaanvi gasp, "Ayaansh?"

"You know him?"

"Pranav!" Another person yelled.

"Is that Abir?" Jaanvi asked in an excited tone.

"You know him too?" Pranav cried out.

Jaanvi laughed. "God, Pranav how have you been?"

"Wait! What is going on? How do you know all of us?" Pranav demanded and then he gasped dramatically. Jaanvi thought he must have guessed it but the guy was way too goofy.

"Are you a witch? Do witches know people's name by their voice?"

This time she rolled her eyes but her face hurt from grinning so much. She had missed this dork. And Abir as well.

"You wish. But since you guys are together and enjoying, I'll cut this short and let you go back to those two. It's Jaanvi." She informed him and was greeted with silence from another end. Did he hang up?

Just as she was about to check her phone, Pranav yelled loudly, "IT'S YOU! MY FAVOURITE GIRL" Jaanvi laughed at his enthusiasm.

"What the hell idiot. Why are you shouting?" She heard Ayaansh curse the other and a gnawing feeling filled in her chest. He was going to get upset again for intruding his times with his friends, wasn't he?
