Mahi rushed towards Virat, picked him and patted his cheeks. No response.
"Cheeku, look kiddo I have come. Wake up bachaaa." Mahi tried but still no response.
He picked him up and took him to his car as ambulance would have taken some time to arrive. He drove quickly to the hospital.
Once they reached the hospital, the doctor took him for treatment.
Mahi sat outside, crying profusely. He got a call from Anisha.
"Mahiiii." But Mahi didn't respond.
"Mahiii??" Anisha tried again.
"Mahiiii??"
"Aniiiiii..." He started and broke down again.
"What's wrong Mahi?" Anisha asked worried.
"Anisha...... Come to XYZ hospital."
"Bhaiiii?"
"He is under treatment."
"Okay. We are reaching." She said and cut the call.
"Ro?" Anisha shouted.
"Yes bacha?"
"Bhai is in hospital under treatment. Let's go naa."
"Let's go."
They reached the hospital and saw Mahi crying.
Anisha sat beside him and put her hand on Mahi's shoulder. Mahi turned and hugged her tight. She rubbed his back to calm him down. "Mahi calm down, Bhai is going to be fine." She said.
He held her tighter, he could not get the state he saw him in, out of his head. He was so scared seeing him in that state, not responding, his head and mouth bleeding, it sent shivers down his spine. Anisha was trying to be strong for her brother as he stayed strong for her all her life.
Ro joined the hug and let the tears flow.
After a while they broke the hug and Anisha wiped Mahi's tears and kissed on his forehead.
"When I entered the room he was kept, he was lying in the pool of his own blood. That Gaurav beat him mercilessly. *Sniff*.... I can't get that visual out of my mind. I got so scared as he was not responding." Mahi narrated and he broke down. Anisha hugged him. Just then the doctor came and Mahi rushed towards him.
"Doctor! How is Virat?" Mahi asked
"He isn't responding to the treatment. He is unconscious."
"When will he gain consciousness?"
"Can't say anything now! You can meet him."
"Okay doctor."
Rohit stumbled upon the chair nearby, breathing heavily.
"Nothing can happen to Vi.. nothing can happen to Vi." He mumbled.
"Nothing will happen to him Ro! You have to be strong for him. See now he will soon be back in action. He will fine in no time." Anisha said trying to calm down Ro!"
Ro sat there thinking about past incidents with Virat. Their childhood memories, how happy they were! How their life was so peaceful. How he and Anisha loved irritating Virat.
"I wish we could go back to childhood. When there was no tension, no stress, we could enjoy freely. Remember Anisha, we were irritating Virat and he started chasing us, but I pretended to get hurt, and how worried he got. He kept looking for 15 minutes if I was really hurt and even later was making sure that I wasn't hurt. He protected us at every step. He loves us so much. And I couldn't protect him, I should have gone with him to the terrace. I should have been there with him. I failed to protect him, I failed." Ro said breaking down. Anisha hugged him.
"No Ro you didn't fail. Get that!" Anisha said
Ro just sat their hugging her.
Mahi entered the room, seeing him attached to machines, head covered in bandages, broke his heart into pieces.
He went and sat on the stool beside the bed. He took Virat's hand in his.
"Cheeku, bacha, get up. You know na I need you, I need you by my side to ask stupid questions, I need your love, your goofiness back, a constant pillar of support. I want my cheeku back. You can't take him away from me. You are not allowed to do that. Your sister is waiting for you Cheeku, when will my brother talk to me hug me. And Ro too is waiting to fight with you on silly things, irritate you! And I need my baby brother back. Wake up Cheeku wake up." He said and broke down. He rested his head on his hand.
After a few minutes Mahi sensed some moment and he saw Virat slowly waking up. He rushed to call the doctor.
Mahi waited for doctor to check him.
"He is waking up. He should be fine!"
"Okay doctor. Thank you."
Mahi carrased his hair and sat beside him.
Virat opened his eyes to see a very concerned pair of eyes looking at him lovingly.
"Mahi bhaiiii!!!!" Virat whispered
"Cheeku.. how are you feeling bachaaa."
Virat felt at peace seeing his Mahi Bhai and getting all the warmth.
"It's paining a bit Bhai!" Vi said in low voice
Mahi's heart ached to see his always so happy Cheeku so weak.
"Take rest kiddo."
"Yes Bhai. Where is Anisha?"
"She and Ro are outside. Wait let me call them."
Anisha and Ro entered and stood on either sides of bed.
"Bhaiiii."
"Ani bacha are you okay?"
"Yes bhaii I am! How are you feeling?"
"I am okay bachaaaa."
Virat held Anisha's hand
"Sit with me na bacha." Virat said. He wanted to feel her presence.
Anisha sat beside Virat and carrased his head. Virat leaned on to the touch and shifted his head on her lap. Anisha stroked his head lovingly.
Rohit and Mahi looked at them with moist eyes.
"Ro! Bhai! I am fine, don't worry." Vi said weakly.
"Vi! We know you are strong and you will come back very soon. Don't stress, we will catch that Gaurav. He will pay for this."
Virat smiled a bit at that.
He slept due to medicine effect. Mahi and Ro went back to hotel as Ro needed rest. Anisha stayed back with Virat.
After few hours he woke up and saw Anisha looking at him with moist eyes. With help of Anisha he sat resting his back on the bed rest.
"Bacha, what happened?"
"Bhaiii...." Anisha said tears starting to form in her eyes
"Haan bachaa." He said holding her hands.
"Bhaiiii *sniff sniff* I was so scared Bhai. I was scared of losing you. I can't see you hurt. I wanted to be by your side. I missed you so much. I felt so lonely. I can't lose you Bhai. I don't wanna lose you. When I saw the video, chills went through my spine. I can't stay without you bhaiii. Don't leave me bhai, don't leave me bhai. I love you bhaiyaaaa." She said and broke down in bitter cry.
Virat pulled her in a hug. Anisha hugged him being careful not to hurt his wounds, and cried. Virat rubbed her back to calm her down. It hurt him to see his sister cry and so broke.
"I am here na bachaaaaa. I am here. Don't cry bacha. I can't see you cry. I am not leaving not now not never. I am there for you always. I love you kiddo."
Anisha looked up from the hug, Virat wiped her tears and kissed her forehead. He held her for a while.
