*imagine y/n is training with Thranduil*

"Good. Do it again." Thranduil instructs me for the millionth time.

"Can we not take a break?" I whine.

Thranduil laughs a little bit under his breath and replies, "No melethel. Suppose I was not there to protect you and you were unprepared to face an enemy..." He begins to trail off and looks off into the distance. I creep up next to him and lightly kiss him on the cheek. He blushes a beautiful pink and turns to look at me.

"Then I guess I will have to stay with you at all times, my king." I say in almost a whisper tone.
He smirks and grabs my waist with one arm to pull me into his chest. I wrap my arms around him tightly.

"I wouldn't mind that." He drops the sword that sat in his other hand and uses it to gently place his fingers under my chin, signaling for me to look up at him. I gladly comply and lock eyes with him. He frowns a little as he stares down at me.

"I worry about you so much y/n. I fear with so many threats present in Middle Earth, I may lose you to one." He greviously admits.

"You needn't worry about me, Thranduil. I have trained with you every other day since before we were wed." I try to lighten the mood. To my surprise, it worked! I got him to smile again.

"Prove it, my queen. Defeat me in battle." He challenges.

"Gladly! I hope you know what you have gotten yourself into." I sass. A wave of confidence rush through me.

We raise our swords. We circle around the arena, waiting for the other elf to make the first move. Finally, Thranduil charges forward and I advance towards him. The sounds of metal clanking together could be heard echoing around the room. After an eternity of a back and forth game between us, I pin him down on the ground and rid him of his weapon. Thranduil raises his hands in defeat.

"Very good." He praises me kindly.

"Not too bad yourself." I pant. I'm over here dying and he doesn't have to common decency to at least pretend to be out of breath.
I sink down next to him and hug him.

"That was fun."
"Certainly. We should do that more often."
"I agree."

We sat there in a comfortable silence for no more than 2 minutes before I rested my head on his shoulder and began to slightly doze off.

I woke up to Thranduil carrying me up the stairs to our bed. He gently placed me down on it and climbed in next to me.

"Goodnight, meleth nîn."
