'The best relationships are the ones you didn't expect to be in and the ones you never saw coming'
- iliketoquote.comArthit taps his foot against the floor as he waits for Kongpob to come back with their drinks. They had met again outside Blue Sky Cafe and Arthit was stood next to one of the large windows and just like the day before, the day was bright and blue and the sun was hot.
He had read the message from 'BK152' that morning, (as soon as he had noticed he had one), so many times that he couldn't count the amount of times that he had read and then re-read it.
Was this it?.
After months of waiting and hoping was he finely going to meet this man?.
Did he still want too?.
Well, yes he did. He wasn't going to give up on someone just because it felt like the universe was stopping them from meeting. That every time they were going to meet in the past something would come along to stop that.
He wonders to himself how he was going to tell Kongpob about the message.
And then he wonders why he just thought that.
It wasn't like Kongpob needed to know and Arthit didn't need to tell him anything about 'BK152' but for some reason Arthit always found himself doing just that.
Through the window where he was stood, he can see Kongpob talking to P'Sun as he collected their order. Kong had adopted the casual look again today with his black jeans and a navy blue T-shirt. And Arthit had to again admit that he looked good in casual wear. Kong could wear a black plastic bag and still pull it off as a new type of style.
And Arthit hated that.
The cafe was busy again today so as the pair talked, he could also see N'Mork serving a long line of customers. He could also see Sun's younger brother, Rain, filtering around the tables, collecting used cups and plates, welcoming people in and talking to them as they passed him.
Arthit missed that. Greeting customers as they came through the door and then helping them to find what they were looking for and then telling them to have a good day when they leave. It's one of the things he misses the most out of everything.
But he doesn't know if he could go back to that. Back to the constant worrying over invoices and bills. It was fine when there was no real competition and all Arthit had to think about was what gadgets were going out that day and what comic book he was reading next, to the crowd of children that used to come every weekend.
Suddenly a glass of Pink Milk appears in front of him and Arthit looks up to see Kongpob, stood in front of him with a big smile on the guys face. Saying a quick 'Thankyou' Arthit takes his drink. They start heading away from the cafe but as they walk, through the corner of his eye, Arthit noticing Kong still smiling at him. Even still smiling at him, Kong gets in step next to him. Arthit takes the straw in his mouth and sips, trying to ignore the even, even still smiling Kong.
It doesn't work.
"What?".
"Nothing," Kong chuckles, shaking his head. He takes a sip of his coffee. "Just wondering why you like to drink Pink Milk so much".
Arthit shrugs. "It has always lifted up my mood. When I was in school they gave away milk every morning. I often got diarrhoea when I tried to drink the chocolate milk so I only drank the Pink milk instead". He smiles as he looks over at Kong. "So because of my constant drinking of the stuff you can call me a Pink milk addict now".
It was true. Arthit drinks this pink goodness a lot. It's his go to drink when he's feeling upset or just down. He drinks it to cheer himself up but he will also drink it when he's happy.
Kongpob chuckles. "That's cute".
"What?".
"Well, most people decide on a flavour because they like it, I think it's adorable how you drink it because you got used to it".
"It's not like I don't like the flavour. I do." Arthit says. He holds his drink in his hands. "I just haven't found a flavour that I like just as much". He plays with the straw. "And it's not cute or adorable".
He wasn't pouting. He didn't pout. He was a grown man.
And Arthit wasn't trying to defend himself, either. So why did he sound like he was defending himself? He can hear Kong chuckling and looks over to see him smiling.
He hated how good looking Kongpob was when he smiled.
"I beg to differ". Kong slows in his steps and turns to him. "It's both cute and adorable. Your both cute and adorable".
"Kongpob!" Arthit tries to say it sternly but he can't. His throat feels dry even though he's still sipping from his drink. Arthit can feel his face getting warm. Why did he always get this flustered whenever Kongpob would say anything like that? Why was he so affected? Although he's completely embarrassed and his heart is beating fast, he feels very elated. It's almost the same feeling he gets when he's chatting to 'BK152'.
