'A great department store, easily reached, open at all hours, is more like a good museum of art than any of the museums we have yet established.'

With his briefcase in his hand, Kongpob steps out of the elevator, saying thankyou to Charlie, the operator, who holds the doors open for him. There's a definite spring in his step as he walks out of the apartment building and makes his way down the street. Normally he'd be driven to work but he's in such a good mood this morning that he wants to walk.

As he heads further into the center, shops start to open. Shutters opening up and vendors filling up their stalls. He walks past a flower stall and the sweet aroma of mixed flowers wafted towards him. As he walks past his arm brushes the sleeve of the guy stood talking to the stall owner, as he turns to apologise the guy has gone but he is left with the slight scent of Gardenia. He finds himself smiling.

As he walks on and joins the crowds, the steady flow of commuters heading to work, a slight breeze startles a flock of birds which fly over his head. He stops to watch as they fly up to one of the taller buildings, landing with a fluff of their feathers. As he then carries on turning the corner on to Khoa San Road, he spots his favourite Cáfe and heads to it. As he gets closer to the door the same aroma of Gardenias wafts into his senses reminding him of the guy from before.

He enters the building, holding the door open for a woman and giving her a Waii as she walks away. He walks up to the counter with a spring in his step. The owner, P'Sun, a tall man in his late twenties with broad shoulders but a thin waist. He has very handsome features with dark hair and eyes. When he smiles it spreads across his face and reaches his eyes, making both his eyes shine. As Kongpob approaches, P'Sun gives him a broad smile. Kong Waii's at him and places his order, an iced coffee and a Chinese doughnut.

"Sawadee P'Sun" Kong grins at him, "How are you today?"

P'Sun waii's and smiles back at him as he completes Kong's order.

"Your in a very good mood this morning, N'Kong." He passes Kong his drink and doughnut.

"Well, it's a beautiful day, "

Taking his order he Waii's goodbye, leaving P'Sun to shake his head. He looks up when, his boyfriend, N'Mork walks up to him. He's just seen Kong leave.

"What was that all about?" He says placing a tray of used cups and plates on the counter. He has a tea-towel slung over his shoulder and a light brown apron tied around his waist. He was looking just as perplexed as P'Sun. He shrugs his shoulders.

"I have no idea." Then turning to N'Mork and smiling he says, "but I'm sure he will tell us when he wants too." Then leans in for a quick kiss.

After Kong leaves the cáfe, he walks along passing shop after shop, until he reaches a large building, covered in scaffolding and plastic sheets, under construction. Men in hard hats climbing ladders and the noise of drills and hammering can be heard over head. As Kong walks though the small white door he nearly bumps into his best friend and assistant Pete.

"Sawadee, Ay'Pete. Good Morning."

Pete greets him back but then frowns.

"Your late this morning."

"I walked this morning and it took longer then I thought it would."

Pete's mouth drops open.

"You walked," Kong nods, " but you never walk. "

Kong shrugs his shoulders, as he puts down his briefcase. He sips on his coffee as they start walking through the building while Pete reads from a long list of work that still needs to be completed. His frown deepening as he gets further down the list.
