To say that Arthit was not in the best of moods when he gotten up to go to work the next day, was an understatement. He’d woken up late because he hadn’t slept that good the night before. He’d missed out on his human alarm clock because Frank was still away and he had overslept. This had resulted in him missing the bus he normally would catch and having to walk a couple of streets over to catch a smaller bus which was very packed. His only conciliation was that Blue Sky Cafe was open.

Pushing open the doors to the place, he was greeted with a sweet, strong aroma of brewing coffee and baked goods and with the smiling face of P’Sun.

“Morning, N’Arthit”. P’Sun waii’s at him.  Arthit waii’s back, sitting down in one of the chairs near the counter. He orders his normal Pink Milk, lowering his head onto his arms. He was just so tired. “So”, P’Sun says turning away to make his drink. “How did it go?”.

“What do you mean?” Arthit lifts his head, staring at him. He was so tired that for a moment he wasn’t sure what P’Sun was on about. Then it clicks. “Oh, he didn’t show”. Arthit lowers his head again.

P’Sun frowns, turning his head. “He stood you up”.

“No”. Arthit says, quickly. He lifts his head back up and shrugs his shoulders. “I mean something could of come up and he couldn’t make it”.

“You really think that?” P’Sun says, doubtfully. He hands Arthit his Pink Milk.

Arthit sighs. “I don’t know”. ‘ He been thinking of it all last night and that’s what he hopes has happened. N’Mork appears out of the back room, carrying a tray of freshly washed cups. He spots Arthit and puts the tray before giving him a waii.

“P’Arthit, hey, how did the date go?”

“It wasn’t a date and it didn’t”. Arthit says sourly. Getting up from his seat, he picks up the plastic take out cup, and takes a sip. He gives P’Sun and N’Mork a waii before heading to the door.
Just as he opens the door, he hears N’Mork turn to his boyfriend.

“What’s up with him? Did I say something wrong?”

P’Sun smiles at his lover fondly “ No, the guy never came”.

N’Mork raises an eyebrow. “He got stood up”.

P’Sun just shrugs his shoulders as Arthit cringes. Those four words were starting to irritate him. He leaves through the door letting it close heavily behind him.

Arthit  arrives at the store to find Rome already sat in the door way, typing on his phone. He looks up when he hears Arthit approaching and jumps up excitedly.

“So, Ai’Oon spill. What happened?”

Arthit passes him his plastic cup and crouches down to unlock the shutters. “He never came”.

Rome lets out a gasp. “He stood you up”.

Struggling with the lock, Arthit grits his teeth as he tries to loosen it.

“I wouldn’t exactly say it that way”.

Managing to unlock the lock he tries the shutter but it’s stuck. He gives it a wiggle but it still won’t budge. Frustrated he stands and gives the shutter a well aimed kick, it gives way immediately. He lifts the shutter, unlocks the door and they both walk in.
